the real oem ssk for e92 328

does anyone have the one you are supposed to use not the e90 330 lever?

i just got it installed today by the master mechanic at bmw. i thought i got the wrong lever since it was bigger than my stock one!

finally figured that mess out and chose to install it well all the gears are closer thats for sure.

my 1st redline shift 1-2 went horrible it didnt go in and made a huge tranny noise and bucked 1-2 shifts are super hard now and im kinda scared to try that again as fast as i usually do.

the rest of the shifts are alot hard to get into but at the same time more solid.

the only part im really hating is that my favorite knob active auto workz now sits higher than it did stock which i thought was going to go away hence ssk.

kinda sucks :/

ahh sorry to hear this bro. from my understanding, the M3 knob is short, and the weighted knob is also pretty short(alcantra), the ss weighted knob may also help in the throws?

The 1st 2nd shift is really stiff when you put in an ssk. If you didn't replace the selector rod, it's even worse. It's hard to describe what happening without drawing it out but I'll try. To shorten the throw, the part of the shift lever below the ball must be longer than the original. The stock leaver and selector are conected at about a 90 degree angle. If you just replace the lever, the angle is going to be less than 90 degrees. That makes it harder to move selector rod.

so what can i change the selector? not sure what that is. i dont see how its going to help me 1/4 if i can barely get to 2nd and i have to be cautious i dont grind . i love my 3rd gear and had to get a new tranny due to a mild bad shift and grind. and the noise i heard today was pretty wild !

i bought a cdv delete that will be here this week so its the last step right? i love my knob but with this lever its way to high now.

Some ssks come with selectors so their levers will fit. The selector connects the lever to the gearbox.

I had the same issue thats why I went and got the 330 specific one, the 328 one just sat too high for my likes
