watch my video if you haven't, I re posted it, I had the muffler guy leave out the packing on both side, the inner chamber where not touched. sound quite till you get on it, and in sport mod its very responsive in the exhaust note, and not overly loud for an enjoyable ride.

sounds good, did you do a x pipe in place of the rear resonator. would be louder if you did.

Its the same thing, only difference is that the e90 has resonators in the rear and e92 has a rear cat. I would get his, do the mod to his and keep yours as a back up.

I don't think there will be any measurable power increase, unless that resonator on the driver's side impeded flow. Looks like the stock exhaust is pretty free flowing since it's got 2 cats per side upstream of it. Plus, turbos make the exhaust quieter anyway.

Has anyone in SoCal had this done with good results? Can anyone recommend a SoCal shop that has successfully done the mod?

Been lurking for a while and I want to get it done!

Thanks!

One more thing, I believe the tips on an e90 muffler will come up shorter when mounted on an e92.

So I've been reading, from what I understand the mufflers of the e90 and e92 are the same. Only difference being that the e90 has a resonator about 18" before the the muffler itself ?

So if I'm not mistaken I can use the e90 muffler and not have to do the X pipe mod because e92s don't require that mod ?
Someone help me out correct me if km wrong.
Me having a e92 and using a e90 muffler to do this mod I shouldn't have to do the X pipe?

I installed mine today and I have to say it is very loud and raspy especially on cold start and when giving gas in low rpms (auto tranny). Doesn't sound good to me at ALL. Heavy throttle in higher rpms sounds good and at cruise it's fine with no drone. But if this is how you guys sound I don't know how you put up with it. On first start the neighbor kids came running over! I do have catless dowpipes and since I used an e92 exhaust to modify, it doesn't have rear cats or resonator, just the crosspipe. Maybe I did something different but I followed the recommendations I think (both perforated/resonated pipes in the mufflers replaced with straight pipes and I split the packing).

I'm thinking a couple of resonators in the middle would help a lot. But I don't know if I want to invest much more in this experiment.
