Usually I think I'm about 2500 rpm, not sure if able to launch at 3000 rpm...

anyone notice a difference launching at 2000 vs 2500 vs 3000, shifting at 6000 vs 7000?

Any one try out the 2-step rev limiter on the jb4 ? The Xi should launch like crazy, I played around with it, it's pretty cool.

don't think we have to care about wheels, as long as you have proper tires... Stef (BobVader on this forum, 2008 e90 335xi 6mt) is doing 11.7 @ 118 with stock sport wheels and conti dw tires.

11.7 my car was running 14.2 but it is 231hp remapped to 270hp diesel and automatic plus it was on 235/275 19'' wheels...(that is why I am asking whic wheels do you use)
I will have to remap to 290... but i have X drive problems and or A/T problems with slipping feeling... I am not sure which one is fucked as both of them is giving alarms lately ....

Best times were 12.649, 12.671 and 12.749. This was my second time at the track, first time I was running 13s flat. My launches can still use improvement. I only had one good launch (12.649 run) where the car didn't bog down. I seem to either bog or burn the stock clutch...

Something happened with the JB4 on the first run because I was hitting 17.5 psi but my ignition was retarded by 7 deg. At the beginning of the run the IAT was 135deg so that may have been the cause (extensive idling before running is a bad idea!) or maybe false knock caused by the launch?

I basically had to do a couple of 3rd gear pulls afterward to let map 5 re-adjust. Due to the timing being pulled on the first run, the boost lowered to 14.5psi on the next run. I never got the car running 100% right because I was only hitting 16psi towards the end of the night. Unfortunately my laptop died after the first 2 runs so I couldn't continue logging.

Anyway, I think I can run low 12s with a better launch and a fully working tune next time.

What am i doing wrong? I see ppl with just a jb5 running 12.5-12.7? That seems like a huge difference just for upgraded software.

Sounds like your 60' needs some work or you need to add some E85 or race gas. Most of my 60's are 1.6-1.7 with my 335XI setup.

I think bmw awd system is pretty solid as compared to audis. my friend had lots problems with his awd car. plus audis now have torque vectoring that causes a lot of understeer. I never heard of any awd system failing in an xdrive car or suv. also I have not seen any other car with this much tuning potential as the n54 platform.
Good luck with the COBB. I tried it once and sold it because it was way slower than the JB4, than tried it again when they came out with the E85 maps and it was still at least .2 slower than the JB4. You will need a custom tune for the COBB to keep up. Just my experience.

5) Been drag racing at Bandimere and others for 16 years (even won a couple bracket racing events) But this is my first time Automatic

Best Time of the night

13.47 103.4mph 2.04 60ft time

Best Launch of the night (some reason my car pretty much skipped 3rd gear shifted at 5k rpm)

13.61 102.8 1.97 60ft time

Not sure what I'm doing wrong my best launch I set all 4 times at 42psi my best time it was at 35psi . I've tried running in DS (best time so far) and starting in D1 manual shifting at 6200rpm but can't seem to get the times I think I should have

In my previous car STi I was able to get 1.7 0-60 ft all day even got a 1.6 here and there . I figured with an AUTO it would be worse but it seems like everyone on here is getting 1.7 and 1.8 60ft with Auto .

I feel like my car should be running 12.9-13.2 at 106-109mph

You should be in the low 12's.

I don't have DP and I don't have access to E85... and my best run is 12.62 @ 109 MPH. I've a 335xi 6AT me too. Mods: Alpina B3 TCU Flash, JB4 G5 ISO, BMS DCI, BMS CP, VRSF 5" FMIC, BMW PE

I will go back later this summer, now I've the BMS PUMP Backend Flash... and I'll fill-up with 94 octane!

I don't think low 12s because of the altitude but I was thinking 12.7ish

In your video it looks like you don't start building boost until the first light goes. I've been building boost just after both cars stage completely. Maybe I'm not properly building boost because I'm holding it under load too long

I would brake boost as soon as possible i.e. as soon as both cars stage is completely, but I'm not fast enough lol that's why I start to build up boost late...

I usually brake boost around 2800 RPM and build up around 5-6 psi.

No, I have not dynoed my 335xi yet.

I should go back to Napierville Dragway in the next month. I didn't go back since I've the BMS PUMP Backend Flash. If they are open on Canada Day I might go, otherwise maybe on July 4-5...
