Does Gray Popular have Brown in it?

I've looked at all the pics in the archives, I am thinking of getting black interior with Gray Popular Trim in the Coupe, some pics look like it has brown in it.

So is the wood brown or gray? I don't want any hint of brown and if it does I might as well get the light Popular.

Any help would be appreciated including any true life pics showing it is really Gray and not Brown in color.

My dealer has no Gray Wood so I can only go by pics. I think with Titanum/Black Leather/Gray Wood would be awesome if it is really Gray and not brown. I'm hoping the Gray would be true Gray with shades of darker/lighter Gray that would blend nicely with Black interior and Titanum exterior.

Here is a pic I found that says it's Gray, but I swear it looks brown here, I know pics are deceiving though.

Then this one looks more like Gray

maybe the red reflection from the seats is distorting the color...there is no reddish or brownish hue's at all in mine

I havent seen a photo that does the grey poplar wood justice. I suggest going to your local dealer and seeing it in person. Its my favorite 3er trim available for the US.

The photos on BMWUSA show too much black. Photos on this forum and ones I have taken show lots of brown. The flash on my camera seems to bring out brown tones not visible to my eye. In person I have not seen any brown. I do not have the car yet so there may be some light that shows hints of brown.

The responses you will get here will be alot like the responses of people talking about the Sparkling Graphite color. Some see purple tones and others dont. With the grey poplar wood, some see brown and others dont. You have to see it in person.

For the record: I see purple undertones in SG and I dont see brown in grey poplar wood.

There is definitely some brown in it but you can usually only tell when you're shining a light to it (hence the pics because of the flash).

I was initially turned off by the gray poplar b/c of the pics but I saw it in person and that's what I plan to go with.

someone posted some pictures of his car a few weeks ago where the grey poplar looked amazing. he had a black interior but i dont remember what color his car was. anyway ive tried searching and cant find the pics. if anyone knows the one im talking about please post it up. id like to see it again too. someone in the thread said something like ok that solidifies my decision on getting black interior and grey poplar or something like that if that helps to find it.

Bimmerforlife, let me assure you that pictures do not do it justice. I just got my ride and it doesnt look brown like it does in pictures. Its gray.

Its looks more like the second pic in the post with the red seats. Its not as dark as on the BMW website; but it looks very good, Im not disappointed.

When I first saw pics of it I was concerned, it seemed a bit to brown. But it just seems the flash makes it look that way. Its actually gray in person.

I can barely see any brown at all in mine, except in direct light. You can see specs of it, but I assure you it doesn't look anything like the photos make it seem. No matter how I took these, the trim looks brown.

No brown in mine, either. Agree with other posters, color looks different in every photo; need to see it in person to appreciate it.

Thanks everyone for your replies, it appears this is the interior color for me but of course want to see it in person beforehand. My dealer has no 335 coupes at all, so I can't even test drive one and of course I'd probably never see the gray wood in person unless someone orders it at the dealer and they call me to just look at someone else's car.

Demand seems to be so high for this coupe at local dealer, rep says he has 5 people on order for the car and says soon the conv will go into prod and that means less of the coupe will be able to be ordered. So I may have to wait till all this demand dies down to get better deal, don't want to pay full sticker price.

I must see in a different spectrum cause the brown in this looks very obvious to me. Looks more like a muddy brown than a gray to me.

Actually it's got more than a little brown, but we'll say it's gray so we don't hurt your feelings.

No, actually it's got less than a little brown... and we'll still call it gray.
