New alloys from ********
Hi All,
Finally changed my alloys and tyres. Was previously on 20" ZITO 935's, tyres were 20" 245/30/20 all round. Prior setup wasn't forgiving over bumps, more road noise (compared to my new set up), wallowy ride, and not as much grip (again, compared to my new set up). I also wasn't really a fan of the stretched elastic band, train wheel look. I had been thinking about changing them for a while but after driving over recessed ironworks and cracking one of my rears, my hand was forced. So I contacted ******** and bought a set of staggered 19" 8.5 and 9.5 CSL reps in hyper black. Offsets: front ET38, rear ET40. Rubber wise, they are wrapped in Nexen N8000s; Fronts 235/35/19, rear 265/30/19. Apologies for the crap phone pics, will get some better ones up soon. The ride is sooo much better on 19s. More compliant, more grippy, less "crashy", more comfortable. I think I have lost some top end compared to when on the 20's, but I am attributing that to the wider tyres and more resistance. I'm still careful of navigating potholes and iron works, but I now no longer clench when I cannot avoid them! All in all, I'm happy with them - yes, many may say they don't look "as good" as the 20s, but that's subjective. Below is what it looked like before; Your feedback and advice is much appreciated! I think they look better.
The 20's look too big for the car, and i dislike the odd spoke shape on them too. That said, i prefer the M359's to the CSL's on the E90, just look that bit more concave or something. |

Your old wheels are way nicer imho. OK, maybe 20s are a bit big but I find CSLs a bit... well, dull.

"Boo" and "Hiss" to all of you that prefer the older wheels
I suppose design is those personal preference - I wanted something not as ostentatious as the prior design, hence why I went hyper black. I've been de-chroming the car too (black grills, black window surrounds) so I don't think hyper silver would have contributed to the design pattern. Thanks all for your input so far, keep it coming! |

I prefer the new wheels. Is your car Le Mans blue? If so, same colour as mine, always good to see what wheel/colour combinations work whilst i'm pondering of what to do with mine.
