Liking the look of that. In fact so much I've spec'd one up and have a demo soon, as a possible replacement for my wife's ED35

My local dealer isn't getting a demonstrator (I have asked).

Cheers guys for the great comments.
Piling on the miles, and had a good spirited drive today. Flipping in heck it moves, and havent even gone past 5k revs or 3/4 throttle. Handles soooo well in sport mode. I can see why all the Magazine reviews are 5*. Think this little car will be able to keep up with much more exotica on the twisties! The new gearbox is really up there with the DCT i tried in the M3 as well. As for 4wd comments, the Mich Pilots seem super sticky...dont think you need 4wd plus it would ruin the way it pushes out of corners

You know that feeling
when you meet someone again for the first time in 30 years? You'd hardly have recognized them on the street yet there's still the snotty nosed kid in there somewhere.

Nice motor Tim - how's the MPG looking?!?
I've got a drive booked in one after my hols - really looking forward to it! Does it give you the 'James-May-Fizz'? I know it's quick but does it feel 'special' too? I had a drive in an X6Md not too long ago which was quick but I didn't get the all important fizz!!

In EcoPro mode, i absolutely hated the car, so only ever using that mode on the mway. no wonder it squeezes 36-37 mpg out, it dulls the throttle so much. Everything else, yes I think this car has the 'Fizz'. It just feels so perfectly balanced (even the front and back tyres are the same pressure). In comfort (default) mode it is effortless to press on and gives a lovely composed ride. I think the adaptive dampers must also stop body roll around corners. In sport everything seems to stiffen up perfectly and it transforms the car into a precision weapon. It just feels so right and connected..kind of like the reviews said - this feels more like a M car than it should! oh and the noise......mmmm Service pack for £300 is just a no brainer! Mine was a bit more expensive list Quote:

Wow - those shifts are amazing for torque convertor auto.
I can see why evo mag said a) the box makes you question the need for heavy costly double clutchers b) it makes a better noise than many of the real M motors! |

The more I think about it
You know, the more I think about this car, the more sense it makes.
Dial in sport handling or economical cruising comfort, so no big compromise either way. Kick-ass performance Quite reasonable economy on long trips and not punitively bad around town. Plenty of storage capacity and 4 good seats An affordable price tag with really attractive financing and super economical service packs And it does sound amazing Hmmmmm |
