Well after countless threads and posts.. it is finally 100% conclusive thanks to a ZF technical spec sheet on the GA6HP21.

From 03/07 all 320d's had the GA6HP21 gearbox... which we know has the faster shift times and more importantly, 450nm rating. This is confirmed in the graphic below.

BMW choose not to use the ZF serial of GA6HP21 and instead use the Technical Update (TU) moniker of GA6HP19TU.

So tune away in peace... the rating is up from 400nm to 450nm

Thx for sharing. Give me the piece in mind when it comes to chipping diesel engine.

Do u know when did BMW start using the 2nd gen transmission?
