Anyone have pix of the Hamann-style quad diffuser for the stock 335i coupe bumper? Also, any comments on fit and finish would be appreciated.

It looks to be the cheapest way to get from stock to quad tips -- about $200 from one of the forum vendors. The few pix I've seen look decent (see below). But I need more visuals to help me decide whether to go that route or get an Mtech bumper and quad diffuser.

Aside from just enlarging the outlets on the stock bumper, this has to be the most cost-effective way to upgrade to quads.

Believe both cyba and adamaster, forum vendors, sell the Harmann-style quad diffusers. Possibly other vendors as well...

It fits well and it's the cheapest way to have a quad setup, but it doesn't look as clean as M-Tech bumper + M-Tech quad diffuser IMO.

Cyba has all you need.

make sure the distance between the two outlets is the same for your exhaust as the hamann is made to fit the hamann exhaust which i think is a supersprint, you only need an inch or two difference and it will look terrible.

Fit looks good. Is the diffuser a genuine Hamann or a rep?

It's helpful to see the OEM bumper cut to accommodate the quads, before the Hamann was fitted. Looks like the shop that installed your AE exhaust also installed the diffuser. In other words, you didn't need to get a body shop involved. Is that right?

rep. did it at the mechanic shop but i recommend you to do it at the bodyshop as they can mold it around the edgy way better... just my .o2

You can get the actual Hamann version at http://www.bavauto.com. It's currently on "clearance" for $500.

Cyba (e90Post vendor) might have the replica version, which would be far cheaper.

I was thinking about this hamann style for a bit but thought the bumper cutout was so much cleaner.

This was right after I installed my exhaust and cut the bumper. It still needs some adjustment but thats being taken care of. I say forget the Hamann crap same some money and get a cleaner look overall. If your going to cut it up don't do a hack job but make it nice and clean.

Yeah, I'm sort of leaning that way. Did you use a template or anything to make your cuts? What tools? I was planning on using a dremel but don't want the plastic melting. Basically I know I've got one shot at this and want to avoid screwing it ups as much as possible. Any DIYs? Thanks. And your car looks great. Hope mine turns out that well.

Thanks! I will give you a little run down as to what we did.

• Cardboard Template
• Razor blade ( one that cuts drywall)
• Masking tape
• Ruler
• File
• Map Gas torch

Its not as hard as everybody thinks you just need to take your time and don't rush. Don't use a dremel you will start to melt the plastic. When your under your car u will see a support brace for the bumper that will need to be unbolted and bent our of the way. Some people probly just cut this but opted to heat one section up and bend it out of the way in-case i ever wanted to use it again. Glad i did because i used that brace to help hold some finally adjustments to my muffler.

Take some measurements first and then make a template, use one of the exhaust cutouts for this. Use the template and masking off the area around the bumper, use your razor and slowly start to cut away only doing little by little and make sure your have a steady hand and a new razor blade that plastic can be a little thick. As long as your measurements are correct and your template is good you will be fine. As you start to achieve the desired look use your file to clean the edges. Constantly watch the edges talking a look from afar to see how it all lines up and also having somebody else view your work to make sure its all straight.

Once i finished I had to modify the exhaust hangers a bit in order for the tips to sit perfectly and be flush this takes more time and def helpful with more hands. If you mess up then you can always just slap on the hamann. The main goal is making sure both holes are uniform as possible, the picture i posted is not the 100% finished product i did not have time to finish so i snapped a quick cell phone pic. If your not confident in yourself any bodyshop should be able to do this for you no problem, i don't see it costing that much.

Wow, nice work! With your adjustments, I bet it bascially looks stock ... with quad pipes, that is.
