M Aero Kit
I was wondering if anyone is interested in a group buy for the M aero kit? I spoke to Paul Miller BMW (NJ) and they said that they can sell the kit for just over 1K. Im trying to get a price on the paint and install (JMK says $1,500)so anyone thats interested just send me a PM.
Also, anyone that knows of a good bodyshop please post a reply. Thanks |

so 1500 is not (kit/paint/install)? Just paint and install? you have to buy the kit from paul miller?

Paul Miller sells them on ebay cheaper. I bought mine from them for $899 plus $150 for shipping. The kit included the M-aero front and rear for the E92. I had them painted and installed by the only body shop I would ever trust touching my car for $700 (it is a friend of the family). Total cost $1750. Paul Miller was great to deal with.

Unfortunately the M-technik kit probably won't include the front bumper considering it doesn't pass US DOT laws w/ having the reflectors on the front bumper. I don't think the dealers could legally sell them, which has been the whole problem of why we can't get them from our dealers now. I dunno, maybe they'll restyle it for the US market w/ the reflector like the M front bumpers.

This thread fails because of certain issues:
1. The title. There is a difference between the Aero Kit and the M-Tech Body Kit. An 'M Aero Kit' does not exist. The M-Tech kit includes a front bumper, rear bumper with diffuser, as well as side skirts. These are NOT sold in the US. They can only be bought and shipped internationally. The OP is about the Aero Kit, which is simply the front lip and rear bumper. There is no 'Aero Kit' for the E90. Just the M-Tech kit which is sold in the US since it meets US DOT laws. 2. Paul Miller's price in the OP is a rip off. The painting and install from JMK is an even BIGGER ripoff. Get these parts from Tischer and get it painted at a reputable shop for much cheaper. 3. There will be people who want EITHER the front lip of the Aero Kit or the rear (although it's not popular at all). Those who want the front lip of the Aero Kit can go to the sponsors page and search for the group buy that Tischer is holding. These will come already painted in front of your doorstep and you can install it yourself. As for the rear, you can get it from Tischer and have it painted/installed at any good body shop. The dealerships will over charge you and try to steal your money. M-Tech Kit? Buy the whole package from one of the sponsors. Be prepared to throw down a good $2.5K.

The thread fails because the dealers quotes were too high? I wasnt trying to direct people to buy from them, i was simply trying to see if anyone got a lower price. Maybe you should research what your talking about before you go bashing other peoples threads!

All right. Sorry for sounding harsh on my previous post. It didn’t help with that tone of voice so I’ll have to apologize.
The point I was making is this: If you want to create a group buy, through my experience, Tischer is the best way to go. Yes, I know they aren't local, but they have the best customer experience as well as the best prices when it comes to OEM products. Most other dealerships will almost always be more expensive when it comes to their products. Another place you can look into is Circle BMW, but I still think Tischer is the best place to do a group buy. They have done other group buys with their products (OEM Aero Front Lip, OEM M-Tech rear) and they have yet to disappoint. When it comes to painting and installing, don’t ever go through the dealer. They will overcharge because of their ridiculous labor costs. A body shop is much more reliable in terms of price and workmanship. I can’t name any local body shops from the top of my head, but search through the Tristate section of the forums and a few names can pop up. If you can get a good number of people (at least 10) I’m pretty sure your group buy will be successful. A dedicated number like that will definitely get you a good deal. If not, you may have to just buy the parts separately. The group buy for the front lip is still going on, painted and shipped for a little less than $500. As for the rear, I have found that Tischer was the cheapest so far. Good luck with the group buy, and again, sorry for the harsh and immature response that I posted earlier. No hard feelings .
