Can someone advise me how to clean black dakota leather, while maintaining the matt look?

Use a leather cleaner but skip the conditioner or use very little of it. I'm with you in that I also hate shiny seats and specially a shiny steering wheel.

Right now I'm using Leather Masters, seems to work well for me.

imen11 - You're using what is considered to be the leather care benchmark product.

mcuk- LTT products are all water-based and are a decent alternative (Harrogate based company)

So from reading the following:

Maintenance: Leather Master™ Soft Touch - apply and allow to dry for approx 20 minutes, finally using a clean dry 100% cotton micro fibre towel buff to a matte sheen.

Leather Master is the way to go. I am not sure if I can get this in the United Kingdom. Will hunt around.

Hi,

After having a good look at my seats there is some sort of shine on the surface (I am guessing from the rubbing of my clothes). How can I get rid of this shine and restore the matt look?

Also, does anyone have a link to leather master products in the united kingdom?

The shine is due to dirt / abrasion (you are actually polishing the surface.)

Use a good water-based cleaner, which will provide a matte (OEM) finish and follow with a surface protection.
