Got a call back today on the high pressure pump failures. My source informed me it is unlikely due to ethanol. He is being told directly that the failures are due to a manufacturing defect. The latest pumps have been solid and fault free.
Keep in mind this is his experience. |

335's are way more expensive in Canada, however we get a lot more bells and whistles as standard.....

what is the approximate date on which the fault-free HPFP's were released? when I replaced mine 2 weeks ago, on the service summary sheet it said that the HPFP was produced/received on august of 2008. However, my car has been showing the same HPFP failure signs again and so I want to make sure that I get the right HPFP this time.

sorry if this has been already posted but:
does this 10year HPFP warantee apply to international warantees also? example: i am in south america and do not have a north american bmw warantee of 4-5 years. my bmw dealer warantee is only good for 2 years. thanks

My current HPFP has that same part number but i seem to be having problems again. I replaced it last week and on the service summary sheer it states that it was replaced with one that arrive in Aug/08 and it has part number 13 51 7 592 881. Right now, the rpms still fluctuate at idle. I'm taking the car in tomorrow to get it checked and I'll ask them for the latest released HPFP.

VERY IMPORTANT
Guys please report the HFPF issue to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association..Here is the link. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/Complaint.cfm The more complaints they receive the more likely that they could force BMW to issue a recall and fix this problem once and for all. There is also an online petition to get our voices heard about the HPFP problems with our cars..PLEASE spread this around..get as many people to sign as possible.. I just did http://www.petitiononline.com/fixpump/petition.html Also this problem is finally starting to get some media attention so we need to make a stink to the rest of the world and not just here on the forums. Check this article out... http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/au...ompa/19560998/ Last edited by tibra1; 08-26-2010 at 02:18 AM.. |

Bottom line is everyone who owns any of these cars has or will have an HPFP issue..the key is to let the authorities know about it..I mean what other options do we have? |

I also hate to burst any bubbles but the likelihood of them honoring this on any modified car is slim to none!!!
