Anyone ever try to buy a car with a lost title? Do you have to wait the 15 days for the seller to get a duplicate, or is it possible to simultaneously to go to the DMV and do the transfer as well as reassignment?

ETA: The answer is the latter. You can have the seller fill out the duplicate title form and it allows for a simultaneous reassignment.

Did you end up going? I think the Waverly place one starts back up in June. They just skipped May to give time to work out some logistics.

Really? I saw a couple posts about it being cancelled. Shop owners complained about some aspects and specifically the cars taking up the no parking zones.

But yeah I went and it was great. Still not too many bimmers or exotics.

Garage List
I was at Raleigh Grande. Good turn out including a lovely MP4-12C and a good deal of BMWs (Bimmer Perf Ctr was amongst them). Not as big of a turnout as Waverly but it was a good time.

Hello NC! I'm new here, live in Raleigh. I've been lurking for the past two months learning everything I can about my E90; 2008 335i I bought in February. Thanks to the great tutorials and other resources here, today I replaced my battery and installed the BMS DCI. Whew! Seems so trite but I've never been much of a mechanic before. Hey, does anyone in the Raleigh/Cary area have a BT cable and want to help a newbie out with registering my battery? Beer will follow!

Thanks Marcus321!
I decided to call around and Import AutoWerks did it for $35. Much better than Leith who wanted $120. Hope to see your GT-R someday, amazing cars.

Still got my Volks. Locals can get a deal on some light, strong, forged monoblocks!

Anyone know who can pull code history in the Asheville area? I've been to two shops that can't get the codes from my limp mode because the limp mode disappears when I shut it off.

Thanks

More than likely you will need to go to an Indy mechanic that works on BMW specifically to get the codes pulled or the stealership (not recommended).

Yeah that's where I'm finding myself. Stealership wants $119 for their "diagnostics service" to pull codes.

Theres German Motor Werks and Eurosport of Asheville that I pulled up on google. Maybe do some research on reviews of them and see what you find out. My shop generally wont charge me to pull codes unless they have to do something else which then they charge $40.

Willing to bet its something like a Vanos solenoid acting up. Let us know what you find out.

A coworker of mine has a Cobb AP he pulled the codes with. some random stuff about lambda sensors, fuel pump functionality, vent system, but the ticket was a 30FF.

I took it to the dealer because my WG started rattling on cold start last week about the same time the limp mode became normal. I had 100 miles left on the turbo warranty so i took it to the dealer and took my chances to get new turbos. They found a vac leak on the lines behind the oil filter and said that was also the rattle cause because WG weren't closing due to no vacuum.

Soooo 119 later (since it was deteremed it wasn't turbo related) and I have no rattle and no limp mode. I just can't wait to get a flash tune. This car is starting to feel slow
