Exclamation 2008 bmw 335i misfire

so i have a 2008 335i sport sedan with 130k, new turbos, water pump, and front solenoid, i was drivig it the other day and i was accelerating and as i hit 4k my car misfired then the cel came on, i continued driving and it drives fine with the misfire but once i try to accelerate hard it just shakes, so i figured it was my plugs, got the plugs put them in, checked the coils which are new bosch coils, start the car and it has the same rough idle with the misfire, so i took it to my auto parts store and i was told its a cylinder 2,3,4,and6 misfire, so does this mean its my injectors that need replacing, i cant drive the car faster than 60mph and it takes me 20 secs to get there without vibrating like shit

What index injectors?

It might not be injectors, when was the last time you had walnut blasting on the intake valves?

Sounds like your hpfp is going out. Wouldn't be sporadic misfire across multiple cylinders if it was your injector. It would be just one on cylinder where the injectors gone bad

Injectors on these cars have a part number and index number on them.

The last numbers are the index (revision).

Anything less then 12 are considered problematic and should be replaced.

7 and 9 are one of the first. 12 are the latest.

Yep, I'm thinking HPFP or walnut blasting. Needs a walnut blasting regardless, assuming it's never been done it should be done around every 35K miles.

Mine did that when it was valve cover gasket. Started misfiring randomly in 2-6. Didn't notice any oil until I couldn't go above 3000 RPM without it violently misfiring. Cylinder 1 was completely dry.

Well i will pull off the german plastic parts once again and check the injectors, where are the number you speak of written at?

Also planning to get it walnut blasted since this mess is happening, hoping its not the hpfp as my brothers 335d has been down for a month with fuel pressure and pcv valve problems

You normally would have an HPFP code but not always.

Part number is right on the injectors, you can't miss it.

It's the top number and the last two numbers indicate index. In the above example they are index 12.

If you have a way of getting logs well easily be able to tell if your hpfp is going bad

So my index numher is 11, and i was retorqueing my spark plugs and ended up having one break halfway down the thread at like 10 pounds, so tomorrow ill be trailering it to g3 auto in raleigh to have them walnut blast and hopefully diagnose my problem, plus get out my faulty bosch spark plug

Find out if there are other codes. Do you have the service history with receipts since you just bought it?

If you pull the plugs out check to see if there is any oil on them. Could be valve cover gasket as some had mentioned.

Let us know how it goes! But yeah, HPFP or cracked valve cover. BEST bet.

Sheesh, sorry to hear that.

Check the plugs while you're in there. Signs of oil or fuel could indicate valve cover / injectors.

Index 11 isn fairly reliable so that might not be culprit unless you see fuel on spark plugs or fuel smell at start up.

As someone else mentioned a cracked valve cover or heavy leaking gasket can cause misfires too.

So many things can cause misfires on this car, making it really hard to diagnose over the internet.

I thank everybody for your time and input, hopefully it will be back soon, think its a mix of walnut blasting, and either hpfp or cracked valve cover, will keep you all updated

Since it has not been mentioned, there is a good chance this is a DME problem with the MOSFETs

Would only happen in 1 bank at a time. Highly unlikely both bank mofsets blow. *pretty sure*

N52 E92 here. About a month ago valve cover gasket started to leak so I was planning to replace it. A few days ago I started having rough idel and misfire: Cylinder #4 (if I remember correctly). Obviously I am no longer driving it.

I am hoping it is due to the leaky valve cover gasket. I removed the spark plug and there was a lot of oil around the coil.

What are the other likely causes? It is only one cylinder.

There's a sticky thread that describes other causes of misfires on these cars. Also think about the cats breaking down and clogging the exhaust, as that's becoming more common around here on higher mileage vehicles with histories of leaky injectors and other catalyst-destroying issues.

Got the CEL diagnosed at my shop, 4 misfires so hes gonna start with all new injectors, plugs, and one coil pack, because one of them was bad. Should fix the problem as he saw no sign of any leaks
