DIY Big Brake Kit -> Swap CTS-V Caliper
Hi,
So I've been searching around and found a company that specializes in bracket for CTS-V swaps to Nissan and other cars: http://ctsvbrakeswap.com. The website is mostly empty but they do have a FB page https://www.facebook.com/ctsvbrakeswap. On their webpage they have a coming soon for BMW. The price of CTS-V Brembo calipers is insane. The 6 piston calipers are here (2009-2012): http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-12-Cadi...ac47f5&vxp=mtr They support a 380mm rotor. The 4 piston calipers are here (2004-2007): http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-07-Cadi...1a94dd&vxp=mtr These support a 355mm rotor. I would love to pick up some brackets and a pair of these with the right size rotors and get a monster BBK for $1100-1700. Go to their FB page if this is interesting.

Sweet! This could be a great solution to a cheap but quality BBK
Really hoping they make a kit for the 335

Make sure the piston sizes are correct or your brake balance will go to s#it

I would be more worried about long pedal travel with these kits such as this.

Subscribed. Looking forward to seeing this go through... Definitely jumping with the other concerned members on pedal feel and brake bias.

You can compare the caliper to what Stoptech and Brembo have for piston sizes. I couldn't find them but I didn't look to0 hard. Also look at what the stock F30 piston sizes are.
The piston sizes for the CTS-V are 44mm and 40mm for the 355mm rotor (4 piston) and 38mm, 34mm and 30mm for the 380mm rotors (6 piston).

Subbed for an affordable BBK option. At the current prices there is no chance for me.

The company is looking at making the adapter brackets.
Go over to FB and tell them what you think. Looks like rotors won't be an issue as there are quite a few BMW rotors that are 355mm and 374/380mm Rotor offset can be adjusted with the bracket to some degree. It's nice that all 5 lug BMW's have the same bolt pattern. Hub bore is different but a larger hub bore won't be a real issue. Just need to find out about piston sizes on other BBK that use the stock master cyl.

It irks me that there are no BBK options for a 2011 335is below $3grand so, if this is doable for my car, count me in. I am not a DIY'er for brakes, so hopefully one of you smart guys can pull together a list of parts and best sources - would be greatly appreciated. I would want to repaint the calipers red and hopefully add a BMW or ///M logo sticker.

I am pretty sure the newer Camaro bolt pattern (so disks) is exactly the same as BMW if that helps. May be true of CTS-V also. Would be cool if Vette brakes fit.

IF this fits our stock size rotors, fits under my m359's and doesnt throw off bias. I will be among first in line to get a set!

I assume this is a front only kit?

I have the CTS-V's 4-Piston calipers on my Eclipse Lol But I have them painted Grey with out the V on the caliper. So if they are going to make a kit that work's for the BMW's I'm in, Plus I wouldn't have to go threw all the work I had to do to get them fitted on my GSX.

I see a lot of people do this with the Porsche brakes but $700 for a 6 piston brembo front kit plus no more than $300 (guestimate) for the brackets, this sounds like it could be something big for the e9x community |

I got lucky cause my buddies father has a cnc machine and after 3 set's of brackets and 2 different set's of rotor's and had to make sure everything was balanced out, we finally had them right and I have only put about 1000 miles on them so far.

So why are you waiting to make one for the 335?! You can even sell it and probably make a decent profit
