Ha, some post a dyno with a sloping hp curve with max power north of 6k and its called useless. Some post a dyno with over 430 wtq over 3k to 6k rpms and its called useless. Can't make everyone happy.

Just give me peak power at redline (not trailing before) and a flat torque curve after 3k and i'm satisfied!

Get hardware that can flow it. Realistic gains for realistic parts is important. We can make this perfectly flat if you want but it wont have as much power as this does. I can easily make this flat tq from 3k to redline for you but this tune is far more fun

Nah, just correct tuning is what I want! I would much rather have a straight HP curve until it drops off, whatever level that is (just around 500whp). Like if that dyno graph stopped at 500whp and carried through redline it would be perfect. And if I could get even like 550 torque flat it would be perfect. Nah what I mean? I would sacrifice peak numbers for a different curve.

But either way, continue on the tuning! Tony from Vargas said he would hook up a Ported head for me. TOO STOKED.

no trolling. he is making great power but its still a shitty power band. all the power in the world doesnt mean shit without a nice power band. All that power dies after ~5k rpm

this is a nice power band. Power all the way to redline with a flat torque curve.
this is from a boosted S65 (m3)

Last post on this thread for me, I know what a nice power band looks like. I just don't think its justified calling the RB power band "shitty", it's just not completely linear. That s/c m3 doesn't make better power than a stock turbo n54 until about 6.7k...

Who needs torque when you have so much HP up top? You just need to keeps the revs high to maintain some power.

The power band is fine even more impressive for still keeping the stock manifolds/stock frame turbo's.

i feel you. I guess different power bands for different needs!

I personally dont care to much about A LOT of torque. It justs needs to be linear and controllable so I dont keep spinning tires on track/canyons

yup! thats why i sold my 335. I track and take my car on the canyons and prefer a linear and controllable power band not tons of torque and horsepower that falls on its face

zomg, cpwinch and turbomike, have your s65 powerband, and enjoy it. You should also enjoy the look of my tail lights growing further and further away from you as 631 lb/ft puts trains on you...
