Things have been real busy around here the last couple of weeks. In addition to keeping up with PROcede demand, we've been trying to wrap up internal v2 beta testing. So we can test it on the 535. Also in the process of making a new installation video for the 535 which takes a lot of time.

May not be as big as the 3 series market, but I bet they sell pretty...

535i vs 550i

I guess if we upgrade procede onto the 535i there shouldn't be any reason to get a 550i. Price (gas costs and car cost) & Horsepowerwise. What you guys think?

Duh, +370hp, +380tq @ the wheels vs. a 550 that weighs 265-286 lbs more & makes around 310hp and 310tq @ the wheels...

I disagree. I'm a 41 year old, not so sure about mature, businessman and I love my 330i 6MT and would highly consider picking up a one year old 535i and then add the PROceed to it when the lease is up on my 330i. A 535i PROceed would probably perform even better than my current 330i. The hard part will be finding a 535i 6MT as such a high percentage are ordered with the auto.

A 535 Procede will outrun an E39 M5 by about 2 car lengths to 100mph. It is no doubt much quicker than your current 330i.

Good call
The future looks bright for this motor. It looks like BMW is going to be using this motor for some time to come. The aftermarket tuning capabilities are just in the begining stages.

Not sure of "true" tuning of the 535i or if car's weight (or gearing if the 535i is geared differently than 335i) effects dyno results, but I'm going to guess and say the 535i puts down about 5-10 hp/tq less than the 335i.
Reason:
Mostly due to exhaust. 535i probably doesn't have as freeflowing exhaust and probably uses more piping and more restrictive mufflers.

The stock 535i did baseline a little bit less than the stock 335is I've seen. Especially in the torque department. The test car we have here put down 272whp and 275lbft of torque. Of course, the car only has 900 miles on it so the numbers will probably improve as the engine breaks in. With the 535i version of the PROcede (the mapping is different), it put down 315whp and 342lbft of torque. There does seem to be a bit more exhaust backpressure in the 535 since the rear section of the exhaust is merged together (not divorced like the 335i). And the exhaust is a bit quieter as well which would indicate more baffling inside the muffler (also a contributor to backpressure). However, we are starting off conservatively with the 535i and there is certainly some room left to grow. We did notice something nice about the diagnostic system in the 535i which should make things a bit easier down the road. No, we're not telling

Well, pretty good guesstimate on my part. However, the hp numbers seem right on for the steptronic however, and the torque numbers are lower than I estimated. I knew the exhaust would be more restrictive.
As for the 900 miles. Many 335i's dynoed with 900 miles or less too and still put down 30+ lbs -ft of torque more with the PROcede.
Again, I'm sure a lot of that is the exhaust. Maybe a bit or a more restrictive intake and probably slightly ECU tuning from the factory as well.
It's interesting the mapping for the 535i is different than the 335i.

As for the "secret", guys relax that's a normal business "teaser" being done.
