i just use a damp microfiber towel
then i wipe it with a dry microfiber towel
i don't like to use any lens cleaners as sometimes these screens have a protective coating on them, and the lens cleaners might damage it
like on the iphone screen

Yeah I was going to say distilled water and microfiber frequently. Keep it from getting dirty enough to need higher horsepower intervention...

Why do you feel you need to clean the lens? I've always believed that the last thing you'd want is a brush sweeping across the laser assembly. You don't want anything touching that so unless you can blow it off with just air (unlikely in a car unit) I wouldn't use anything on it.

the reason was because the unit is making noise while reading the disk and i just thought it could be from dust.

I wouldn't recommend lens cleaner unless you're having disk reading problems.

I would try cleaning the disc before I would attempt cleaning the laser.

Why not a Q tip and some isopropyl alcohol? That's what ive used to clean the lens on CD players.

One problem. How do you get access to the laser assembly in a car audio unit without removing it from the car and taking it apart?
