Help with Angel Eyes install
OK I guess I'm losing my mind. I ordered a set of angel eyes LED upgrades for my 2009 E92 335i and I've looked at dozens of install videos, but can't find an answer. My H8 LED Angel Eye upgrades have two cables that come out of the harness; one goes into the standard connector for the halo lights, bu the other, much smaller connector is a riddle to me. I have no idea where this second cable should go any help would be appreciated. Here's a link to the eBay auction so you can see what I'm working with:

Well the auction indicates it fits all 335i models for 2009:
2009 BMW 335i All All. I know the install is a bit different for sedans, but are you saying the halos are different? I'll post a photo in a second. |

Here is another indication form the aution that it should fit a 335i Coupe:
07-11 BMW 3-series E92 coupe (328i, 328xi, 335i) I don't have the time to add a photo, but here's a link to a current auction for the same device: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-No-Error-L...item1c33f6facd I'll send it back if it won't fit as it says it will are we sure there is not a second cable? I see them in the install videos, but they never indicate where they pull it from. |

EDIT: This part is compatible with 25 vehicle(s). Notes Year Make Model Trim Engine 2009 BMW 335i All All Applications Fitment of this xenon White BMW LED Angel Eyes (Halo Ring) Light: BMW (with stock equipped Angel Eyes / Xenon Headlights Only): 07-11 BMW 3-series E92 coupe (328i, 328xi, 335i) 25 compatible vehicles are a bit much to list in the title no? E92 is not mentioned just as many other models are not mentioned. So AGAIN have I purchased an incompatible part or do one of y'all know of an install for this? There are a million angel eye kits out there and many function quite differently. On some videos I have seen the second cable, but they neglected to mention where it came from so I'm asking here (in addition to hammering the seller). It looks like it could be right, but its confusing because the e90 and e92 ones are different. As a result if the ad says it fits both it most likely fits one or the other, but im not sure.

I found a similar H8 6000K install from Burger Tuning and it has the extra cable from the ballast, but it goes to an error canceler, which I don't have: http://burgertuning.com/instructions...tall_Guide.pdf What's the worst case if I hook these up and leave that extra plug out an error code perhaps? |

I guess the saying "you get what you paid for" is fairly accurate in this case. Why not contact the eBay seller for the install instructions?

EDIT: I thought I mentioned it in my first post, I guess I didn't. I did contact the seller and am waiting for him to respond. Last edited by fistofsouth; 06-21-2013 at 10:34 PM.. |

OK I emailed the seller again. They really do look like the same type of H8 6000K set from Burger Tuning except that they don't have the error cancelling device. We'll see.
I am curious. I know angel eyes installs vary a bit between E90, E91, E92 and E93, but this is honestly the first time I have heard mention of a different kit being needed for each. I just don't see any kits that indicate that; they all seem to say they will work with not just the E9X, but also most of them will fit the E8X series as well. So if there really is s difference in the kits that coupes and sedans use can someone post a link to one of those kits so I know what I'm looking for? |

BT= Burger Tuning I forgot the BMS thing. My time is worth something and if I were really losing some you could be certain I would go that route. Even with a more expensive kit (say the BMS) I am still the installer so the install time is going to happen one way or another. Still I'm at work right now (work from home) and in my down time I'm working on this and getting paid so its win/win. I do hear you though when it comes to time=money. For instance I don't perform my own oil changes even though I can because of the time and money factor. The Angel Eyes installs, while more involved than a standard bulb change, did not look complicated and so I decided to try and tackle it and save a few bucks. IF someone on here during the time I've posted actually had used a kit like this it would have been bam/bam done. IF the seller would hit me back or have included instructions and/or the error code canceling device then I would probably also be done by now. Neither happened so this is taking a bit more time and effort, but I'm on shift till 04:00 CT with little to do so like I said no loss. I do appreciate the efforts of all who have posted. Also if you KNOW for fact that these kits will die in two months then TELL me. Last edited by fistofsouth; 06-22-2013 at 12:12 AM.. |

I can't say with 100% certainty that it will, but with the BMS kits i didn't need to code anything. I had problems with my first 2 sets of AEs where one bulb would slowly go bad after 2 months. Jason @ BMS was awesome and took care of me. I'm on my 3rd set of AEs and those seem to have done the trick (lasting 6 months and counting). I got my moneys worth because of great customer service! Plus i plan to buy future products from BMS as well... They are reasonably priced. |

Seller contacted me and indicated that yarviinn was correct when he said the second cable should simply be left unplugged. So that said the install is complete and I'm good to go. I'll report back on the longevity of these bulbs.
