Talking Going under the knife!

I'm finally making the move to purchase some new turbos and other mods for my 07' 335i. I decided on Hexon RR700's, as I have only heard great things about these and the service that I have had with Hexon has been outstanding thus far. Along with the Hexon's, I am also going to be installing a Wagner II Competition FMIC, and replacing my Vishnu OFT with a JB4. Lastly, inlets and Outlets.. I am still on the wall about which brand to go with, VRSF or MMP. I would like to relocate my air filters to the passenger side, but I'm still doing my research as to which brand has better fitment and kits. I plan on doing the surgery myself, along with a few other car enthusiasts I work with. My questions and concerns are with spare parts, tools and other things I should have ready at the same time I do the swap. I plan to buy (or build) an engine support bar, for dropping the subframe, also buying fluids to do a oil/ coolant change at the same time. Any other suggestions or input you guys can offer? All is appreciated! I'll keep the thread going as soon as the parts start flowing!

Sound like fun! What's the reason for the turbo upgrade? Did your old turbos fail or do you just need more power? I look forward to seeing how the swap goes! Please post some details of your endeavor.

Also, I love your signature. It's exactly how I feel about life, love, happiness, BMWs, and public transit.

It will be fun! I'm still learning a LOT about this engine and look forward to breaking into it a little more. And the reason for the upgrade is a little bit of both. After installing catless DP's about a year ago I noticed the WG rattle, and slowly came the smoke. I was also losing a bit of oil, and with no visual leaks, I concluded it was the oil hungry snails. Lastly, who doesn't want MO POWAAA!!!

I've not done the research but this guy seems to have had problems with Hexon Turbos. Look at the last page.

Good luck with the build though. Sounds like its going to be a mean car when its all said and done.

Bummer, I just looked through his build... dude has a SICK 335i!! He went with the stage 1, hopefully they have the stage 2 plus worked out. If not, I'll be here to let you guys know! Looking through his build has me wanting to put money into the cosmetic appearance rather than engine performance! Soon!!

Thanks for the input, any particular reason you would choose them? Fitment, quality etc?

His inlets outflow anyone else on the market, not that it 'really' matters as anything is better than stock.

His outlets have good reviews. I'll probably pick a set up when I install his MMP inlets that are sitting in my garage.

Both at a fair price imo. He is also SUPER communicative and helpful.

He also stopped VTT from price gouging everyone with $650 inlets.

Havent posted anything new recently.. About two weeks ago, my car got hit on the highway from some idiot on his phone not paying attention. Luckily the impact was low speed and gieco took care of me. No frame damage, just damage to my heart hawaii is a "no fault" state, so the other guy basically got off the hook... I guess? In the meantime, i recieved my TURBOS and got my installation kit and all the other goodies needed to do the swap. I'm going to begin the installation sometime next week hopefully. If anyone wants to give me a hand, feel free to shoot me a message!

Op, if you look at the N52 oil pan gasket DIY, I posted some pics of my homemade engine support bar. If you are still considering making one, you can get an idea of what I did.

I haven't posted in a while, but here is my current status.

Install was doable... but something I would not want to do again. No major snags, just took me a little longer than expected. While I had everything apart, I also swapped out my oil pan gasket.

Initial start up and first few miles of driving, everything was good. Went WOT to log, popped a CEL 30ff, and discovered I had a boost leak, fixed the leak.

I am having the odd noise immediately before my bov sounds. I have upgraded my intake manifold nipple to a 1/4", along with 1/4" vacuum line to my BOV. I also cut my spring in the BOV to allow it to be slightly cracked at idle and open up as it should using a vacuum tool. I am in desperate need of a walnut blast, so I am going to buy the kit and do that shortly. Here is the video of the odd sound before the BOV. its hard to hear, but listen closely...

I have a new RB PCV at home, along with a new 3.5 bar sensor, those will go on by this weekend and then, I will be getting tuned by Trebila.

My experience with Mauricio at MMP has been great, from customer service, communication, to honesty and straight forwardness.
He kept me in the loop during all processes of my build. He was on the phone or texting me as I needed, throughout the installation to provide any advice and guidance that he could. He has also been helping me out with troubleshooting the issues with the odd noise.

I cant tell you to much about the turbos, as I am not tuned and am not able to give you an ACCURATE review of the performance, but I will say this... the turbos paired with the new inlets and outlets sound phenomenal. I love to hear the spool during normal driving!

Had this same problem when I installed my inlets and Pures
Very common problem as far as I know
Did the same manifold vac line mod as you
What fixed it for me was chucking the Tial and installing and SV50 GFB BOV
It comes was an adjustable screw that allows you to set the spring pressure at just the right level so that its just closed on idle.
Fixed the warbling sound immediately

When you had the sound, was it coming from the bov? Mine is definitely on the turbo side.
