I would check the E46 fanatics board and see if you can get an updated disc there.
Take a close look at the disc, they might be in "CD" format back then.

I think I have this figured out. I have a 2006 BMW 325i sedan with the in dash navigation system. In order to successfully backup the 2011 east and west maps dvds which have been discussed in this forum, you must use a dual layer DVD. In my case, I used a Memorex DVD+R DL and it finally worked in my car. I've tried using all sorts of single layer DVDs with no luck. Even though the images easily fit onto a single layer disc the nav system seems to require DL discs. This may not be so for all cars, but it is for mine. I'm also willing to bet that this may get discs working on other nav/car models as well. Hope this helps. I'd be interested in knowing if it worked for others.

Anyway, I used imgburn to burn the image and two prompts appear when using a dual layer disc after clicking burn. For the first prompt click yes, click no for the second prompt. Basically this tells imgburn to go ahead and burn on a DL disc even though the image fits on a single layer disc. It also tells imgburn to spread the image over both layers of the DL disc even though it fits on one layer.

If you need help with this PM me.

I'm having issues burning the disk. I have an iMac and I have tried twice to use the disk utility to burn the image (at 2.4x), but the nav won't read the disk. I have no idea what I can do differently. Any ideas?

Disk Utility has problems burning this shit for some reason -- Toast 11 worked like a charm for me. HP DVD+R disks at 4x -- i've done six or seven sets so far without any issues or bad seek times. super smooth scrolling too.

I used Roxio to burn both a Maxell DVD-R and a Memorex DVD+R, and I can't get my Nav to read either disk. Any thoughts?

I've tried and failed several times to burn, using multiple brands of discs. None of my laptops have a DVD-RW and my desktop is sporting one that's quite old, so thinking that's the culprit.

Anyone willing to burn and ship to me on compatible media? Please PM me.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

here are links to the east disk only if people are interested. maybe this will speed things up for those downloading the west disk as maybe the east disk torrent won't be needed as much.

Use a dvd+r dual layered disc and burn it as a DVD Rom. I had the same problem as you but this worked for me. I think its because my dvd is an older model (2007) and the older dvd players are fussy with dvd+r and dvd-r dvds.

if they have stickers on them burn another copy. the stickers can come off in the heat and mess up your DVD drive.
