Love the intake mod Zasquatch.

I had a thought with regards to the materials used for the secondary CAI tubing.

Ever consider using a Silicone elbow connector and aluminum tubing like you get when you Purchase the STETT intake?

I figure an aluminum tube might be a little easier to maneuver into place.

I didn't do a side by side comparison of the OEM and Forge units, but the latter seem to be a tad shorter and longer. I had plenty of clearance between the flange and the DVs, the problem I ran into is the DV piping being in the way. It is pretty rigid tubing and runs directly under the suction hose. I trimmed the forward DV hose about 3" to get it to lay a bit more flat and that helped out a bit.

For anybody that's put one of the Mr. 5 sytle intakes together, where did you find the 3" flexible hose? or even the preformed silicone hose. All I could find after 20min of searching where silicone adapters.

Has anyone tired to drill the outlet more to the front of the air box? In theory a straight path would provide the most efficient air flow.

The restriction more than likely lies with the intake area on the grilles. I assume scoops help a little, but finding a way to widen that area would help.

I was referring to where people have been drilling the opening at. Looking at the box, there is some area in the front right corner before the clips it looks like you could make a opening.

That would give you a straight shot for tubing to the front of the car and wheel well.

^ you can but the powersteering reservoir will still be in the way. This is why it's drilled in the side of the box, so you can route the tube to avoid this. Check out my DIY to see pictures to know what I'm refering to.

I know in the forum i saw one were the pipe went to the left of the bottle and then then hooking down to the filter in the fender well.

I guess really this is more a philosophical question in regards to the drill point causing any issues or does it need to be centered for a more balanced air draw between the 2 inlets.

I'll take another look, but I don't think a 3" tube will fit......I beleive a 2.5" will though.

For those that have been asking, here's the drawing for the flange:

Anything special need to be done to get the 3' tube into the fender well. There only seems to be enough clearance for a 2.5 inch tube. I can handle the power steering bracket.
It is the head lamp to fender liner clearance. Do others naturally have more space?
I am running a m-tech replica bumper in the front. Perhaps the installers of that mounted the fender liners differently?

I've been debating experimenting with the mr.5 design. Also considered adding a duct from the driver fog area ending just next to the dci's to add another source of directed air to cool then down. I've got the cowl delete so I rarely see any significant heat soak. Just looking to increase efficiency in the turbos. There's got to be a way to get more air to the dci's than just relying on the stock snorkel that really doesn't direct air straight into them.

I used the power steering relocate bracket from ( I believe the afe intake) and used the factory dv tubing attached to my forge DV's they lay cleaner and are completely out of the way from the intake .
