1- yes, he has a 335i as a guinea pig.
In addition to that, new features are normally beta tested for a while after being developed on their shop cars but before being formally released. If you stick to the formal releases, you should be at extremely low risk because it will have been proven out in a number of cars before that point.

I feel like Procede is one of the safest tunes, and it continues getting safer... which is a big part of why I chose it.

Of course, there's some unavoidable risk any time we start changing factory parts and settings. Hence that warning that pops up whenever you start the Procede PC software, stating that you assume the risk of using this tune.

I just bought a PROcede Rev 2 w/ CANbus :P
it should arrive soon

I should get a CAI too right? (currently planning on it just need to find one at a reasonable price)

and as Tag824 asked: "If we use your maps (without any user adjustments) is it safe to say we won't get any engine knocking?"
I'd like to know the answer too.

A few quick questions of my own (sorry in advance)
Can a Macbook running Vista work with the PROcede software?
How about an older laptop running XP home?

Thanks

I use XP on my mac to run the software.

If you use the correct stage map you'll be safe

One request which is off topic and has nothing to do with the awesome performance of PROcede.

The website needs a complete overhaul. Information is scattered all over the place with tons of broken or dead end links. The support section should be more detailed and the support links should not be in a forum format. It sucks that someone needs to sit down and thoughtfully plan and write all this because it's a lot of work. However I believe it would help in the long run.

For one you would get a lot less support emails/calls. It would also help you sell PROcede to potential customers that are looking for answers to questions but don't want to call or have time to sit on the phone with someone. I for one was completely lost on the site and had to call and speak with someone as well as hunt for stuff on the site and on e90post.com to find the info I needed.

Just my 2¢

If I understand the current developments, the PROcede will soon in effect include (1) a multi-function gauge (boost, H2O temp, ...), and (2) a diagnostic code reader/remover. That is about $700 worth of stuff if you had to buy it separately!

When the in-dash display for boost is ready, it will definitely display other channels as well (IAT, knock, ignition advance, coolant temp, etc,.). The user will be able to toggle between what he wants to see.

Is the in-dash boost display going to show TMAP data like the PROcede logs? If so, are you planning on running it through a smoothing or filtering algorithm of some kind? As it is, some people see a shift induced spike in the datalogs and don't understand why. Observing these in a digital display could confuse matters even more.

How about having an on-dash LCD display which shows AIT, Coolant temperature, oil pressure and boost at the same time or some other combination that the driver chooses. For those who track their car, that would be an interesting product. No need to toggle between channels.
