Yes, but if you go to the official US GOV site. Jan 1, 2011 was the last day of diesel tax credit on the 335d.

I bought mine on Nov 28 and my total credits were 6500, which included the 4500 Eco Credit. I hope you got the extra discounts but if not you still got a great car. Do you know what your build date is? I believe the last date of production was 09/30/11, although they may have made a few in October.

Tax credit (IRS) expired at the end of 2010. You two are confusing it with the eco credit from BMW.

I don't know what you are talking about "Eco credit"... But a federal tax credit yes I did receive the credit for my 2011 d when I filed my 2011 taxes.

Eco Credit - $4500 (They just minus this off MSRP)
Tax Credit - $900 (You get this as a tax return)
+ buy car through Costco. They have their own price sheets and it was under msrp.

The tax credit expired on 31 Dec 2010. If you purchased your 2011 prior to that you could claim the $900 credit on your 2010 taxes (filed in 2011). Other than that there is no IRS tax credit.

You are wrong. As long as you registered your car in 2011 you could have claimed the diesel credit. Here is link to IRS http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/2011-A...of-02-10-11%29.

No, I am not wrong. The credit expired at the end of 2010. If you claimed the credit in tax year 2011 (filed this year) then your filed an incorrect tax return. You could claim a 2011 MY on your 2010 tax return only if you purchased the car before December 31, 2010. It doesn't matter when you registered it.

The link you provided is a list of vehicles that were eligible if purchased by December 31, 2010. It is linked to this IRS page: Qualified Advanced Lean Burn Technology Vehicles.

The reason there is nothing in the "Note" column for BMW and Mercedes is not because they are still eligible, it is because they never sold enough diesels to reach the phase out thresholds. The credit expired for ALL diesels on December 31, 2010 whether or not they reached the phase out thresholds.

I purchased my 2011 335d in December 2011. I was not eligible to claim the credit as it had already expired.

I purchased both a 2010 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI and a 2010 VW Golf TDI in 2010. I claimed $3000 of tax credit on my 2010 tax return.

This is why "model years" are so confusing.
