No you cant! You can buy an aftermarket thing that disables this. However on a stock car, once the doors are locked you MUST pull the handle twice or press the unlock button. The doors do not auto unlock when pulling the handle.

2. All my former cars that had auto-wipers have an "always on" mode. my wife's current mazda 3 has this feature. it works pretty well too.

3. Dude, ditch the RFTs.

I had the Mazda3 before getting my e90. The auto-wipers were cool on the 3 - in that they were always on. However, it sucked during winter. Imagine the case where its winter and your wiper blades have frozen to the windshield. You turn on the car, and the system senses "rain" and decides to wipe the windshield. I've had a few friends that ended up with ripped blades, or stripped bolts... not fun..

Not to mention that BMW doesn't want to be responsible for any damage incurred when the driver "forgets" that it is on, and then goes thru an auto car wash.

I'm with everyone who wants a totally reliable powertrain...that's most important...no more hpfp failures!

In terms of minor ergonomics, here's my wishlist:

- Dash-mounted turn signals that are not obstructed by the steering wheel - I hate having to bend my entire head down to see if the signals turned off after a turn.
- Better cup-holders
- Better iDrive (I have the 2007 version and it is very mediocre)
- Larger Glovebox
- More center console storage space

That's all I can think of right now....

My gripes:
1. Change the polarity of radio display lcd, so that we don't have to tilt our heads to see it when wearing polarized sunglasses. Come on already, BMW! We are already into the 4th year of the E90. The previous E46 did not suffer from this, how did this even slip through the design process?!

2. Better paint, like Mercedes with its nanoparticles technology which gives better depth, lustre, and smoothness. Unlike what we have with orange-peel effect.

3. Gives us the option of paying for an LSD!

My Mom's RX330 and my Dad's C280 both have permanent "on" modes for the auto wipers. A lot of cars do. You just have to watch out if you bring them to a automatic wash with brushes. The wipers will turn on and the brushes will bend the hell out of the arms.

Funny thing, both of my parent's cars also have a permanent "on" mode for the foglights.

My suggestion or wish is to have the damn rattles fixed.

-Anthracite trim option
-Stereo Bluetooth
-better place to put your iPod/iPhone and not in the center console
-aluminum pedals
-an actual dipstick vs electronic bullshit
-better quality windshield, one that doesn't chip as easily
-better air conditioner, one that actually keeps the cabin cold

Kinda repetitive but:

Better cupholders (got a medium drink from checkers and had to hold in my lap)

Runflats - great concept, but a spare would be nice; no detour to BMW on my trip

Better Ipod integration

Standard Alarm (like Lexus and Awdi)

Thats all for now

Actually, you're right. I don't know what I was thinking. I believe at some point, I had the auto-lock function disabled, so I was used to pulling on the door handle only once. I like the two pull feature though, except when my friends think the door is broken and continue to pull

I like the double action unlock, I like the fact that I can choose to turn the auto wipers on or off, and I like the fact that BMW doesn't feel the need to improve its cupholders (in Europe, they don't even have cupholders...and I like that).

No, I'm gonna have to add my wish for lighter weight...of course, without sacrificing structural rigidity and integrity, and without drastically increasing the cost. I know that's a challenge, but I think BMW engineers can handle it.

Amen on the RFT I am swapping mine out this weekend.

I think the window switches needs to come back about 2 inches. I keep on rolling down the back window!

my moms 98 buick park ave. you could leave it on, or set them manually, the only gripe i had with auto on was that they always did a once over sweep when you started the car, regardless of weather.

My #1 would be a swoopier dash that better integrates the center stack into the console.

More 12v power outlets.
LSD standard.
Gauges rather than warning lights.
Ventilated seats.
Better bolstering on standard seats.
Xenons standard on all trim levels.

Too many to list but some:

1 – Have a dedicated dimmer for dash just like any other car in the world. Who wants to go through 4-5 step to dim the dash lights while driving?

2 – Have a dedicated dimmer for iDrive just like any other car in the world. Who wants to go through 4-5 step into menu to dim the LCD?

3 – Have a dedicated button to deactivate Bluetooth just like my previous Infiniti. Once you are using Bluetooth, you can not switch to hand set.

4 – Heated seats are ridiculously too storing. Even at the lowest level I feel like my but is being fried.

5 – Although I never use, cruse control is hidden behind the steering wheel. Couldn’t be designed any worse.

6 – The sport seats are too narrow for me. I have a wide back and I like I am being squeezed even at the widest setting

7 – Do Need to mentioned about HPFP, RF tires?

8 – 19” wheel should be part of Sports package. It is greedy ob BMW to charhe additional $1000 for 19” wheel on top of Sport package

9 – Comfort Access should be standard like Nissan does

10 – Why do I need to pull the door handle twice to open the door from inside? Do people fall of from their cars while driving non BMW cars?

11 – Too many rattles

12 – Worst paint quality than Accord

13 – Outdated interior design

To sum up, pretty much everything related to design. Engine, transmission, handling and other moving parts are good.
