That would be an awesome car, but for the people interested in drag racing, probably not going to be as good of a choice as an E9x. Have the HPF E46's even hit tens yet??? Over 1000hp, and I'm not even sure they have gone as fast as the 335i yet. Please post an example if I am wrong...

that was the point I was making when I said; these cars are useless below 60 MPH... have fun in that

Is it reasonable to think that the 335xi is the more feasible platform for high hp?

Drivetrain lose and the additional weight become less important at hp levels over 500.

Not sure how to interpret what your saying in response to my comment.

I said the short answer of a big turbo increasing lag is yes, but that if properly sized it won't adversely affect drivability.

Yes or no question doesn't give the full picture. A turbo that goes full spool at 1500 rpm probably won't feel too much different than one that comes full spool at 2000 rpm in terms of drivability even though the second turbo has more 'lag'.

3-4 GTRs (not the really cheap scam ones, 58-60k for '09 is normal)

I don't know what the point of arguing is, if you actually believe a used C6 with a supercharger for 35k won't demolish any tuned 335 then you're delusional. As mentioned above, the 335 is much better as a DD than any Corvette and is a better all around car IMO but performance per $ it's no contest. It is not typical, but there are LS7 Z06's running in the high 10s at nearly 130mph, STOCK.
i agree with you 100% with the fact that a 335i is a 335i and there is not point in comparing it with cars in super car levels like a GTR or ZO6,

but a ZO6 for under 40k is very difficult to find unless its salvage or rebuilt title. there are good examples in the low 40s.

even though i hate the styling for pure power i gotta say the corvette is unmatched at its price.

so hypothetically if we could bore/stroke our motors to 3.8 from 3.0 (2979) we could theoretically have a 500 hp car??? with a bigger turbo of course if so that should be something hpf considers....
then again the cylinder walls might be to thin due to the open deck construction of the block correct???

even their stage 5 car isnt making enough power for that if driven perfectly.

that being said, i would love to see it.

I would expect a HPF e46 to hit high to maybe mid 8's with a powerglide if it has allllllll the power goodies and can hit a 1.1-1.2 60 ft with a 7,000rpm stall converter.
