No, it's actually not that difficult. You take off the plastic surrounding the steering wheel and pull the center console trim piece up so that you can connect the wires. Not too difficult and definitely 100% worth it.

sooo pretty much i would need a steering wheel with paddle cut outs and paddles and buy this to have everything work properly without a reflash?

and isnt this new like $175US?

Yep, you need this and a steering wheel with paddles. I am also selling a sport steering wheel with paddle cut outs (or my expensive but badass full alcantara BMW Performance steering wheel with paddles) and have some paddles available if your interested in that as well.

i have stock sports steering wheel from an 2006 325i. So do i just make holes at the back to make way for these and connect the wires?

You can do that or buy a new wheel with the cutouts already there and sell the one you have. I also have one with the cutouts if your interested.

Actually you can... If you search it, a guy actually put in the paddle cut outs in his Performance wheel. I don't recommend it but yes, it can be done.

Wow, this changes everything then. I like the feel of my e90s steering wheel and dont want to buy a rubberized one like in my 128.
