PLM 3" downpipe
First off
I DID SEARCH!!! I want actually testimonial of fitment and possible install pic of PLM downpipes from ebay. PLEASE DONT NOT POST IF YOU DONT OWN OR HAVE INSTALLED THESE DOWNPIPES. I dont want this to become another AR,AA,EP-e, mcshelling downpipes thread. please keep the bashing out. I would appreciate if actually owners and/or installers posted their experience and pic of install here so that we can get a clear answer to how these downpipes really fit. Please no "i heard that.." I am in the market for downpipes really soon and this is a strong choice.. unless bad reviews form here. This will be useful to people who search later on. thanks

well hopefully people say some good things, they're just pipes. I just ordered them today off ebay, 285 shipped, another private sale went for $320 shipped .. I guess they didn't know these guys take offers.
I was considering raceland, but they're only 2.5" . Just can't see paying $500 plus for 2 pipes. I do like the ets ones with the flex joint, but is this really needed? I can post my experience with these when I get them installed, hopefully in about a week or 2. Getting my JB4 upgrade today! Last edited by darkevo; 03-16-2011 at 05:10 PM.. |

Work for me, have a slight rattle but can't tell if its my wastegates or both. Probably due to my own install error tho. Car is much faster and thats all I really care about
Had mine ceramic coated. You can see here that they are touching. Need to readjust them a bit. |

Put mine in last night. Only minor issue with fitment is that I removed the hanger bracket that bolts to the bell housing. After that they had plenty of room if you clock them properly.

Did any of you have issues with the o2 locations at the top of the pipes? I may need to rotate a bit (they look fine). Currently, if one sensor is in, the other wont fit because it's being blocked.

MY REVIEW
finally installed the PLM, brand new out the box **INITAL IMPRESSIONS** -looks good -decent welds -seems to line up close to factory d/p **INSTALL IMPRESSIONS** -downpipes didnt fit well together, they sat to close to each other -vband clamps were to big and would fit around vband housing (too thick) -had to remove a heat shield bolt to get the downpipes to clock correctly which lead to rattle -had to take a pry bar after installed and move them away from each other - had to bend in heat shield lower portion to get downpipes not to touch **final impressions** they work.. fitment is horrible and it rattles which is very annoying but its a downpipe. - deff felt a big gain in power with them and they sound awesome, i just need to get rid of the damm rattling some how. - if your a diy'er and dont mind it not fitting perfect then go ahead, if your anal about your car then this d/p isnt for you. if i cant get rid of the rattle ill sell them, hopefully when i put it back on the lift ill figure out what the hell it is..

i don't care for the fitment of them at all, o2 sensors are always very close, if not touching, and overall they just don't fit as they should.

I have riss racing dp's, was told they were the same thing as what your looking at.
I had to remove one bolt from one of the exhaust shields. Had to undo a wire clip that holds o2 sensor wires in engine compartment so they would reach. Took me 30mins to figure how to fit them in place and bout 10 mins to get stupid dumb ass V clamps back on. After that they fit perfect no rattles great power increase and I love the sound. Took me 2.5 hrs to install, it was first time. I don't the concave section matters much cause the exhaust tapers back to 2.5 inch. I took a chance on these to save money $250 shipped, I'm very pleased. Maybe I got lucky with the set I bought Good luck

I think we agree on just about everything.. I had PLM's on my car, after installing some AA's you can really see what separates the <600 dollar DP's from the >300 dollar DP's. I even noticed a change in my exhaust note. PLM's are fine if your looking for performance on a budget, but don't expect them to fit properly and be rattle free.
