Vac test / turbo actuators
I did a vac test on the turbo actuators by using an OTC vacuum / pressure gage. It went up to 25 Hg upon start up then as the engine began to move closer to idol it moved to around 22 Hg. Then when the warmup procedure was done it went back to 25 Hg. 152,000 miles on the original, OEM turbo actuators.
In the picture below, the needle moved to the left. |

Is there a question or are you just telling us so we know how much vacuum you are getting?

I don't have a tune, but I do have every component of the intake system upgraded. Most people without a tune are around 12-15hg. I am curious of what people think... |

Humm, I am tuned or I would drive to Holy since it's not that far so you can test on my car.

You must just have an airtight intake tract, which is definitely not a bad thing. 22-25inhg isn't anything to worry about.

Anything less than 22 inches or so is indicative of a vacuum leak or failing/worn vacuum pump and has nothing to do with a tune, charge pipes, intake, gaskets, etc. |
