CSLs are a classic look, you can't go wrong with them. I am partial to the V710s in the first photo but VMR wheels across the line are good looking.

It's hard to make suggestions that reflect your friend's budget without knowing what size he wants.

What about just getting the stock BMW Style 172 M Sport in 19"?

The CSL rims just don't look right to me on a 5 series.

One of the more popular setups for my 5series customers is the MiRo 111. The MiRo 111 is available in both Matte Black and Hyper Silver

Here are a few pics of them on a couple M5:

love the miros^ but not on a regular e60 5 series (non m5)

personally i would look at a set of VMR's or avant gardes, what color is his 5 series?

i believe the offset you can work within safely (since i have the 3 series version of his car) is going to be between

30mm-38mm

The 5 series specifically use a low offset for the front and the rear. The recommend size from most wheel manufactures would be a 19x8.5 ET15 in the front and 19x9.5 ET20 in the rear. Shoot me over a PM if you have any questions at all or have your friend contact me directly!

Will the OEM 650 wheels fit? I think those would look good on a 5...

If he's looking for something in a Chrome finish I'd say check out the Beyern Line up of wheels.

Beyern Baroque:

Beyern Rapp:

Beyern Type 5:

Beyern Type Mesh:

Beyern Multi:

Have him check these out and let me know if he likes any of these styles. I can provide you with actual pics of them installs on vehicles too once he makes that decision.

Is his 5 series an "I" or an "XI"? If it is an "I" then the offsets that **********s suggested are correct. If it is an "XI" then look at the same offsets as e90 3 series vehicles.
