15000 miles?
I recently bought a 325i and they said that the oil should be changed every 15000 miles. Is this true? I know the oil is synthetic, but that's still a long time.

No, that's not true. The car will tell you when its time for your oil change. Sometimes over 20,000 miles depending on your driving. The dealer will not do a free oil change until the car tells you. Do a search and you will find out more information on this. Some people pay for an oil change before the car tells them. I thing I am going to wait until ythe car talks to me.

15,000 miles for first oil change?
I have 15,000km for first oil change. Seems that computer does not convert miles and km for the service in U.S?

I consider myself a very aggressive driver (ie 2 tickets already) with 12,000 miles on the ticker. But my car still says 7,000 miles to oil change. It feels so wrong, but saving the $$ feels so right.

To be serious, I think it depends on your driving habits etc. In my case 3k may be too often. But then again, for somebody who only drives 1mile to work and 1 mile back, 3k miles may take a long time. Bottomline, it cannot be too much of a good thing.

For every one's info:
There is a glitch in the programming of some e90's which causes the oil service interval to be too much, i.e. 19000 instead of 15000. GO TO YOUR DEALER and tell them your Oil Service interval reads too high. They will check the mileage since your last service, perform any needed service, and re-program the car to have the right interval.. unfortunately the programming can take several hours to complete, so count of leaving you car overnight.
