Agreed. Brings the biggest, stupidest grin to my face everytime I start my car, and everytime I get to floor it on the highway on-ramps. Worth every penny I spent on it.

I frikin love that gargle in DS while downshifting.

PE is really the only way to go with these cars, Its really worth saving for if you dont have the 1 stack to drop. People may knock the N52 all the time but have you heard the F30 328 with PE? lmao go look it up and write me back

I like the N52 better to be honest, the F30 sounds ricey with PE.

Ye the F30 PE sounds a lot more soft and tame because the turbo chops up the air flow, whereas with the N52 PE you're hearing the sweet, sweet, unadulterated, uninhibited naturally aspirated straight-6. lolol I love it.

I'm thinking about purchasing for my e92 328i (I can't seem to find a lot of naturally aspirated 6's with this to compare), but am also getting a bit too old for a rice rocket sound, or loudness all the time during highway driving. Part of the reason I got this car is because it's so refined and quiet at speed, but I hate how quiet it is under full load.

A dilemma I'm hoping the PE will solve...anyone provide feedback on their experience?
I just sold the PE off my 2012 E92 because it was too loud at cruise on light throttle for me. Replaced it with an "is" system and it's a lot better. Plus I like the black tips better than the thin-walled PE tips. With either, I don't like the exhaust drone from 1900-2100 RPM but there seems to be nothing short of going to a stock 335i system that might eliminate that.

Oops, just realized I was in the non-turbo section. Sorry 'bout that.

The Performance Exhaust sounds great. It has that nice sudtle exhaust sound. It also sounds good when you start it up on cold mornings. Good Luck!

Rupes, I know this is an old post but I'm asking the exact same questions that you were when you were considering the PE. Did you pull the trigger and get it? If so, what did you think?

I did, it's nice if you're looking for some extra sound. I could still hear the intake over the exhaust too which was nice and it didn't provide any drone.

I love my PE. On cold start it's loud as hell but once it warms up, it's just right....until you punch it and it sounds amazing.

excellent, thank you for the replies. I know with personal taste, and not hearing it in person, it can be so difficult to make a decision. YouTube videos are hard to determine, as it seems so loud(assuming alot are at a cold start, and camera is at the rear. I drive a lot, with family, often 8-13 hour trips in one day and the last thing I want is to hear it droning all the way down highway 95. My only real concerns were steady/constant speed drone, and getting too much unwanted attention when I pull into work, or the neighborhood. Close to stock sound driving unless I really get on it.

Funny, but when I was 16 yr old I didn't 'understand' or care how expensive factory exhaust systems were, and wanted it louder for attention. I know many on this forum are probably thinking like I did back in the day. I tried to rot out the muffler on my 1985.5 Porsche 944 by running a water hose into it a little bit every few weeks. Just more noise is all I wanted, and in 1995 there were few options for a Porsche(under $1500) and all my friends were easily putting cherry bombs or flowmasters on their vehicle. So, I bought a huge 5 inch tip from NOPI (before they were a huge name) and lived with the stock muffler as it never rusted out. Oh to be young!

Seeing if anyone with the PE with the newer part number 18102208793 can chime in. I heard the newer part is slightly quieter..
I got it from the dealership and installed it about 200km/120miles ago and it's already gotten a little louder than when I first put it on. Some people are reporting that there is a thousand mile break in period. Is that what you guys have found as well? I don't have any gurgle/pops at all.. does it come with the break-in, as that's what I was looking forward to the most!

Also, does anyone find that the soot build up is really bad? My whole rear is filthy!

Absolutely not. The PE strikes the right balance. Not loud at all.

How come mine doesn't sound like that (1st video)

Anyways, I just put on the PE exhaust. It's not as loud as I expected. However, it does open up past 4k rpm.
