Brian Cooley catches a lot of shit from people regarding his style and personality but I think he's excellent at what he does - one of the best in the business...

haha agree. 6 Speed is undeniably more engaging and probably more fun, however I prefer DCT because as a car enthusiast, I put a premium on the highest performance available for any given car. As the years pass, I'm a lot less likely to get into a car with an antiquated 6 speed manual.

Wow, that exhaust does sound really good! What exhaust would it take to get my pre-LCI 335i e92 to sound like that?

BMW performance exhaust is rumoured to be a very similar sound...possibly louder due to not having a left exhaust valved. The ECU/slight power differences between the two engines probably don't do anything to make an impact on exhaust note.

To say a manual is antiquated or out of date is just plain stupid. It is a different form of driving a car. DCT is is slightly faster and probably not even noticeable.
If that's what you prefer, great, but cut the bullshit, it's not more engaging or only for the serious performance minded. Ridiculous. |

That is what I thought until I got 335is with DCT. Only the reasons I got DCT was so my wife can drive it and I can be somewhat satisfied. I actually like it more than 6speed manual. I have alway been a hard core manual driver but not anymore. I am a full DCT convert.

Good luck though finding standard transmission cars in the future. Better stock up or you're gunna be one unhappy camper. |
