Wash every few months or so. Vacuum when washed. Never waxed etc.
It is a car and wasn't perfect ever so why spend so much time.

For me I have a lot more important things to do than try and keep a car perfect - what ever that means. I drive it summer or winter and thus it gets dirty every day.

I always try to keep it as nice as possible, kind of helpless at the moment because mother nature is giving her a free yellow vinyl wrap, but I would try to buff out the scratches before I resorted to repainting them. Just a though but I would consider repainting to be a last resort.

I wash mine every sunday and keep it as clean/well-maintained as possible. Still get compliments saying it looks pretty much new. If you get up close like a few inches away though you'll see some small scratches/scuffs but that comes with owning a six year old car.

I was like this for a while really ocd about having it clean and always looking its best. then I got to a point where I was just worrying about that stuff to mucb and I came to a conclusion that as a daily driver and always having people in my car things will happen you just have tl deal with it. if you have the cash to do the repairs then go for it. I will probably be worse once I get all my mods on then I will become super ocd with my car lol.

From now on we take his car. My new 335is will never see the beach. Im glad it was the 335 and not the IS. I have to learn not to be so uptight about a car he says.

I've been cleaning mine almost every other day, it seems. Sloppy weather and left-over road salt drives me nuts.

Perfection is hard to achieve. I bought my first black car, its my daily driver, and I drive 60 miles round trip to work. It's in great shape, but there are chips on the front end, and a few dings from a**holes in parking lots. I wash every other week in the summer, but in the winter, I have a shop that does a good job! I prefer someone else washing it now so I don't have to see all the imperfections.

Agree with you on the safety bit. I once stopped a friend from Armor-Alling his steering wheel and pedals! To clarify, I've been using BMW leather *cleaner* since I bought my first BMW in 2005. It never leaves the surface with a slick film. I like how it cleans out the pores, bringing back some grip that was lost over time due to natural skin oil buildup. I can't stand looking at a steering wheel or shift knob with that shiny/glossy leather look.

I get such a nice feeling when the car is clean. I enjoy cleaning it and enjoy driving it when it's clean, so I clean it as much as I can. It's a hobby

I enjoy keeping up with my car as much as I can. I think people will respect your car more depending on its condition. The biggest thing that pisses me off is when people close my door and they grab it from the door edge to shut it damn finger prints! I carry some MF towels and quick detailer in my trunk, I usually use it only for a day or two after its been washed because by then it's dusty again But yes, overall I try to keep it in nearly perfect condition.

I try to hand wash my car myself once a week, then meguires quick wax after every wash. I have received many compliments. and it makes me feel good knowing that my hard work pays off, especially Jet Black. When I bring my car in for service, my CA can't believe how new my car looks, and it's a 2008.

I wipe down my gas peddle with a soap micro fibre so I remove the dirt on it every weekend.

I try to keep it in a state where it wouldn't be more than 3-5 hours of prep for being show ready.

And I daily it.

i get more enjoyment out of driving my car than looking at it. i clean it when i feel its really dirty, but the last time its been cleaned was when the dealer washed it after taking care of the recall back in early April. even when i clean it myself i just use ONR since its the fastest way and comes out pretty well haha. less time for cleaning = more time for driving. i do have to say that i think my car still looks pretty good for not being washed as often as others. i guess the clean san francisco air helps.

Buy good maintenance wash products. Good wash hand mit, PH balanced gentle soap, two bucket method, waffle weave and microfibers to not scratch finish. Wax every 2-3 months with a quality wax. Give her a good wash in and out once a week. Usually on a Friday morning when im off, or Saturday morning.

Car is garage kept (helps protect the paint and car overall), almost never park it around other cars on the street except for parking lots at malls and shopping center, and as far away from everyone as possible. When

I do park parallel on the street I try to find the best spot for it.
I drive my cars about 2-3 times a week. Mostly on fri, sat, sun.
At the end of the day things will happen! There is no avoiding, just have to hope for the best.

I was on the highway and a metal ring from god knows what I assume was laying on the floor, and from a car in front of me, popped the ring up right, I tried to go around it but I couldn't and it caught my corner bumper. Scuffed up the bottom corner of my bumper about half a dollar bill size, but thankfully some polish and its all good.

Like I said, sometimes there nothing you can do to avoid these mishaps, especially rocks chips and such.
But buy some good products to clean and maintain the car at least twice a week will go a long way. Garage keep it if you can. I try to avoid ever driving my cars in the rain a lot (except my beater of course), snow at all, and salt covered roads ever.
