Problem with AT?

Hi, Have JB3 v 1.22, 99 vpower (93-94 us specs). Mostly run map 6, the air has been pretty cold, only a couple of degrees plus (celcius).
the car is 335i AT conv. 3/08.

3 times ive had this problem, when i start with M1, the wheels starts to spin when the revs get high, then the revs keep being up next to the redline. It doesnt react in changing with the pads and the car stops pulling. After a couple of seconds it starts acting normal. Always this problem only with gear 1. No limp mode or anything else.
it feels like its on "N"-mode for this short moment.

Anyone has idea what the problem is??

Thanks, kaba.

its AT, even if its in the "manual mode" it normally shifts up on the redline. The problem came once also in DS.

The trans will sometimes get confused if you are starting to spin your wheels, then ease of the throttle and it upshifts, then as you gas it again, it may shift down and stick it redline, and not shift, with your car not accelerating.

Are your wheels spinning by pressing the pedal or is the car doing revs itself?

Not completly clear, at least not to me.
What did you mean with starting in M1, did you start the car in M1? Or did you go to M1 after you started the car in P?

It was pretty much like this!

Rismo: I started normally, but accelerated with M1 (or DS), it probaby shifted up and the back down when the problem started, just like hotrod wrote. The car stopped accelerating while this occured.

So others had this "problem" also? Is there anything to do or just live with it? It doesent bother me so much when i know its nothing serious (hope so atleast). And try to accelerate without getting this downshift.

Thanks!

Not exactly the same thing you're experiencing but similiar ..

Put the car in DS, hit the gas, car revs to ~6500, back off the gas, the car "sticks" in first gear and feels like it's going to throw you through the windshield as the engine brakes instead of shifting to second.
