If the store you're shopping at doesn't have LZFR6AP-11GS, then shop somewhere that does. Simple.

RealOEM.com lists the LZFR6AP11GS for 328's models manufactured 12/2009 and later. I'm sticking with NGK 5987 for my 2007 328i to make sure it will work with my existing coils.

thats what im worried about but im also reading they are compatible with all coils. enough people with 2007-2008 have used the NGK LZFR6AP-11GS without problems and if they are the latest i might go with those.

Running my VIN through realoem.com spat out LZFR6AP-11GS as the current, in-production plugs for my 2009 E92 328i. That, combined with hearing others on the forum use those was enough to convince me to order a set.

fair enough. did you install them? everything went well? You have the LCI and i dont know if they did an upgrade with that. I think both plugs would work equally well. i think im going to stick with the NGK LZFR6AP-11GS since i have read a lot of forum members using them without problems in my specific year/model car. ill post back how it goes for others reference.

never knew plugs could be so confusing...at least for me.. lol

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15703691

this thread states.

"2/09 and EARLIER Spark Plugs/Ignition Coils: 12122158253(NGK PLZFR6A11S/BOSCH FR7NPP332); BOSCH 12137571643(BOSCH 12137594937 Upgraded Replacement)
3/09 and LATER Spark Plugs/Ignition Coils: 12120037663(NGK LZFR6AP11GS); BOSCH 12137594937"

so i think the LZFR6AP11GS are the most updated ones. but again use what you feel most comfortable with.

I haven't received the order yet, but I trust the information on realoem.com so I'm not worried at all. My E92 is pre-LCI.

I wanna know if anyone with car pre-12/2009 (mfg date) was able to succesfully use the NKG LZFR6AP11GS. Since they do not show as compatible for these cars on realoem only for post-12/2009...

NGK spark plugs

NGK 1208
ILZFR6D11 Iridium/Platinum Spark Plug

As per BMW bulletin B12 01 05 dated December 2010 these are the spark plugs BMW recommends,

I installed a set at 65K. My car was acting like it wanted to die at stop lights.
No problems since, and I have 84K on the odometer now.

In the DIY thread, I read that at least a couple of people did successfully:

I used NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug (ILZFR6D11) to replace the oem Bosch that was in my 2007 328xi. Got all 6 for $36 from Advance Auto after coupon. Original plugs had 60K on them

I'm about to get my plugs replaced on a 2006 325i, and I'm going with the
NGK ILZFR6D11. Even though it's marked as ENDED in 3/2007 on RealOEM, they lasted 160K km, no reason not to go with the same plug IMHO.

Replace plugs at 65000 miles

My 2006 325xi has a little over 65,000 miles on the speedometer. The vehicle seems to be running fine. However, should I consider replacing the plugs at this mileage? The vehicle is over 9 years old and I wonder if new plugs would be worth it. I assume that I have lost some performance by now.

I have a scanner but have not run a code check. I will do it in a week or so. However, based on others experience, am I due for new plugs?

Thanks

Same here. Based on NGK, the I LZ (Iridium) give more performance than the P LZ (Platinum)
