BMW Performance Power Kit & Performance Exhaust (PPK + PE)

I have just ordered the BMW Performance Exhaust (18-10-2-208-799)

. I can't wait to get it set up!

My car already has the PPK. Will the PPK software need to 'learn' the new performance exhaust? If yes, would a simple overnight battery disconnect make the software reset and set up for the new exhaust?

The PPK won't need to learn the "new" exhaust.

But the exhaust sound is really sweet for sure.

Nope there should be no adaptation time as the PE doesn't affect performance at all. It's just for sound.

Apparently, the PE adds about 5hp and weighs less than the standard exhaust.

I have the same setup. Pretty darn happy with it! Exhaust sounds great and there's noticeably more power than a stock 335.

damn! this BMW exhaust has changed the car's character for sure. the sound is dialed in perfect for the N54. it has an exotic tune and has a lot of decel snap-crackle-pop.

i find myself trying to match revs while downshifting and generally driving more 'spirited' than before. i've noticed that the sound turns heads..

it is loud at times. cold start mostly. i won't say it drones - but it comes close at a specific RPM. cruising in 6th gear with the windows up is comfortable on the ears. i think i can deal with it as my last car was an LS3 with Kooks long tube headers and hooker max flow mufflers!

it took us a while to line up the tips in the cut-outs. i think we got it right (photos coming). i personally love the raw tips. they look old-school. this is a high quality piece and i recommend the BMW PE without reservation. unless you have super sensitive hearing!

it took some time to get the tips lined up in the cutouts... i may have had them set out a bit more. what do you think?
