hey guys,

just bought a cf hood recently but I cannot find any tips / guide on how to install it
Cant really transport the hood to a body shop on my own so would wanna try tackling the installation myself

Here are some questions that I have while searching for a guide:
- Can we use the original 2 hood pressure bar(not sure what its called) thing? People said we cannot use them for cf hood. whys that?
How do we remove them? Dont see any screws. Maybe just pull to the sides?

- There's an electrical wire looking connection to the hood. Is it connected to battery? How should I remove that?

- The fringe seems easy enough, just unscrew the 2 bolts on each side? Am I missing anything else?

Any tips or guide would be great

Remove everything from your stock hood, that includes the little knob the hood strut connects to.

The electrical wire can be easily removed by unbolting the bolt that holds it to the hood.

The hood strut (what you're referring to as pressure bar) has a little indent on the knuckle, put a flat head in there and pry/twist. Once the metal clip loosens, you can pull the hood strut side ways away from the knob

I would put an umbrella under the hood to hold it up while you unbolt everything.

Remove the 2 bolts + the hood strut on each side and the hood will fall all over the place and stock hood is extremely heavy. I did it with the help of one friend but would have been 10x easier with 2 friends helping.

Another important thing is that those bolts are what aligns the hood, its all about trial and error to align it properly.

As a warning, many things can go wrong when you're swapping hoods.

Those rubber grommets near the front of the hood are also a pain in the ass to swap over. Even the hood emblem is a pain XD

How long did the whole process take for you to install the previous hood with a friend helping?
I should get 2 friends to come while I unbolt haha

The swap itself took around 20minutes, aligning it perfectly took hours. Spent 30-60 minutes each day aligning it perfectly for a whole week.

Like you can close and latch the hood fine and even drive with it forever after the 20 minutes, but if you want the gap on both sides to be equal and the gap where it meets the grilles to be as small as possible it would take a long time.
