Phase1: E92 335D Mod Thread - Alas!
Long time coming.. Professional Photoshoot will be around Middle August so stay tuned!

From the month I bought the car, I have spent a lot of hard earned cash on mods and it has exceeded my expectations in every way - I hope it meets those who read this - yes, I got bit hard by the mod bug! My entire car was based on the wheels I had in mind.. and I am a #suckaface for deep dish, especially Step Lips!! I knew I was never opting for the standard CSLs or anything common.. later in the thread you will see the wheels I managed to find and how lucky I was! I couldn't be happier truthfully and I'm so glad I got them. I keep searching to see if they pop up again anywhere but almost a year on - I've seen none without bent dishes! I always wanted to keep it looking classy, fresh and clean! So bear in mind this isn't one of those wide body conversions or anything... but there's a good amount customisation and personalisation involved... Credits: Dips@The Custom Cars: Firstly, I want to thank the guy behind the genius of all the modifications on this car; Dips from The Custom Cars (Heathrow Area). I couldn't have wanted a better person to guide me during this phase. I've learnt a lot of and I am thankful to him for the hard work and sweat he has put in. Dips never rushed my car out of his workshop, instead, took his time and consulted me at all stages - he came up suggestions at times I was confused and I trusted his word from day 1 - I can comfortably say I have not only met with a mastermind, but a good friend! Josh1ah1 Josh, mastermind behind LiteAngels - Truly converted the front end of the car. I cannot believe I had 2nd thoughts about this mod. In comparison to what I have spent, this is a mere fraction and worth every single shilling!!!! If you're thinking twice, Don't ! The amount of compliments I have received, the looks I have got all because of these lights are crazy. Josh helped me select some individual mods for these lights and I can comfortably say these are probably the only ones in the UK right now with the silver accents.. I'm sure this won't be for long the way business is going Josh - see www.liteangels.co.uk for pics and more info. Did I forget to say what a fast turnaround! Those I've met along the way.. - Sumil, gonna go Hard at the shows son! Car looking 'fresh to def' - Ste133 - I hope you do the right thing hermano! U know what I mean! - Mob17 - All the help and guidance on Audio related and the sneak peaks - Tyso - Essex Lad! Lad Lad Lad! - Mesh - You da man for coding! Oh, nice kitten - Skelts - Red Wheels and Mirrors? Dope!! - Gaza01 - Looking forward to seeing your Whip soon - 1SH@CrystalWyte - U gone like the wind these days lol - and Many many more - apologies for not mentioning but this list could go on!! Less of the chit chat and onto the pics.... Bone Stock Jul-12' Attachment 893007 Then, 1st thing was to change the boot number plate lights - Teddy@SSDD Then I bought barely used BC BR series Coilovers off the forum and so glad I did.. Attachment 893010 After Dips installed, this is how it sat.. I have since, been tweaking the coilovers to my liking and today and it almost there! I'm a bit of a perfectionist / analist with these things... So that sorted, I attended Gaydon and Players 2012 bone stock other than the above mode....After August last year, that's when the mod bug bit me hard and that's when the wallet started feeling significantly lighter.... Then came the infamous M3 Rear Lip from BC Moto, think we all know the quality of these! Attachment 893015 Next up.. Audio.. Bought the boot build off Sumil - thanks buddy! He had a 10w7 packed inside here, I planned on putting a JL 12w7AE-3 inside this, so back to the Custom Cars for yet more modification.. Full Audio List comprises: - JL 12w7 AE-3 - JBL MS-8 - JL HD 600/4 - JL HD 700/1 - JL Bass control - Jehnert XE200 underseat Mid bass drivers - Morel Ovation II mids and tweeters - Dension Gateway 500 - Full iPod / iPhone integration with iDrive - Full custom stealth boot build - Lots of Sound Deadening I originally bought a Hertz HDP4 Amp but MEGA wanted that so sold it onto him and bought myself a matching 4 ch JL HD Amp.. Attachment 893018 Attachment 893021 Attachment 893021 Attachment 893023 Almost completed - I might get it re-trimmed - watch this space!! On the right hand side, the 2 cut outs you see are spaces for a circuit board showing lots of wiring and components, transistors etc... with slight hint of Orange LEDs shining from behind there, around the Amps on the left and behind the MS-8 As said, I am planning to get the boot re-trimmed as I'm not fully satisfied but that comes at a later stage... Now then... It was coming up to December and after months and months of searching, I finally found THE rims I was looking for... and boy was I glad to buy them! I contacted the guy, we agreed a deal and he shipped them across... though second hand, I knew Dips was the ONLY man for this job so I had no problems buying at 2nd hand. The wheels went straight to Dips and he refurbished them and had them ready by January 2013. Yes - my wheels only went on 1 month ago but I was always going to put them on last, close to the show season to keep them looking FRESH! Here they are test fitted with some crazy 275 tyres.. Attachment 893034 Attachment 893037 Attachment 893043 Next was Cyba Scoops and Cyba Tips - nothing special! These have changed colour to match a colour theme which you'll see shortly.. Then Performance Diffuser, painted by Dips. Body colour and Satin Black centre slats Next up.. M3 wheels and paddle shift retrofit Next.. a few in the process shots of my car at Dip's workshop Attachment 893099 Attachment 893101 Attachment 893105 Attachment 893108 Attachment 893109 Attachment 893116 Attachment 893127 Onto Phase 1 completion.. Hope this reaches the Mag ... Stay Tuned for Phase 2 ;-) Sam Last edited by AWBimmer; 07-28-2013 at 01:12 PM.. |

I appreciate works of art, the work Dips has done makes the car in my eyes a work of art. Absolutely stunning detail and a perfect example of perfectly executed subtle modding in my eyes, it's the little things(blacked out lights, blended lip spoiler)for example that make the car stand out. I'd be proud and I'm sure you are too AWBimmer to own a car that looks this good, it makes my 335 look rather plain, reminds me of the work I done with my old E46 330d.

To say this car is Sick is an understatement.... Sam, This car is truly stunning!
All the hard work/ $$/ time you've put it into this has really paid off! Without a doubt one of the best E92's in the country! I really love all the subtle mods from the moulding of the aero lip to the straight up bold orange bay! And those daytona's.... Mmmmmm! Josh's work is awesome as always I love the silver accents I wonder who hinted at doing that Respect to Dips too man! Dips really has some skills and props to that guy for his efforts! Looking forward to seeing what more you're going to do |

the transformation is absolutely amazing mate!
true credit to you and Dips to making the car what it is right now...it has a real presence and i have to admit i wasnt sure how it would turn out due to it being a silver car with silver wheels etc but its honestly one of the nicest silver E92's iv seen! small things like the flushed out front end and orange scoops etc really work! cant wait to hear your sounds too!!!! enjoy it mate!!! : bow:

WOAH! That is a lot of pictures!
It is nice to see the progress of the work! Although the mod list is not all that crazy, you can truly appreciate the amount of work that has gone into the car. Bring on Phase2! Gorgeous mate! Tasteful choice of mods and Dips bodywork does look perfect! I have no worries knowing he is working on my car. |

Mate....
Seriously I need to come down to London and hang around with you lot, my field buddys are awesome with tractors and V8's but styling and delicate paint jobs not so much... Either that or pay Dips to relocate to Norfolk! Thats simply stunning, I need those lights in my life.. had a close opertunity last weekend with Josh just couldn't make it work sadly!! The car looks extremely subtle and well thought out, its very impressive! I bet you are over the moon!!
