Tyre sizes

Hey

I have a 335i, I have the 19 inch wheels with
225/35/19
255/30/19

I removed the runflats ion favour of falkens. The fronts have lasted ok but the rears gave done 10k and need changing.

Would I be ok to change the size to 255/35/19? Just thinking of the extra profile.
What you all running?

Thanks

I'm not expert on tyres but I had an independent dealer telling me to do this as it fills the arch on rears and give a marginally smoother ride.

Your essentially just raising the car a tiny bit and filling the arch. They may not have more tread.

Were your rears brand new? If so, you must have been having some fun with the loud pedal

It would be interesting to know a definite answer from a tyre guy, I wouldn't mind upping the profile a little when the time comes, because I can't lower mine (it already catches the gate stop at my apartments)

Change to 235/35 front and 265/30 rear. This will give both more profile and width

Will a wider tyre fit?
I know people stretch tyres. But didn't think you could have them hanging over the rim?

It's not really noticeable. And offers a little more rim protection.
Best of all worlds.

If anything the standard tyres are marginally too narrow for the rim width. The 235s and 265s fit perfectly and don't hang over the sides at all

I'd be interested to find out what you do. Just upgraded to 19's and the fronts will need replacing in the not to distant future...

I have recently changed over to 235/35 and 265/30.

They look and feel much better in my opinion.

Do they fill the arch more?
Lowering is out of the question for me as I already sometimes catch on the stop for the electronic gates.

I have lowered mine on BC Coilovers and have 15mm spacers on the back and 12mm on the front but the arches do look fuller with the bigger tyres.
