Nov 2003 build date for my GTO/Monaro (earliest date known) that got all the original Monaro parts that were taken off the car in Oz land and put back on here in the states, down to the steering wheel and wiper blades. You can call it whay you want but it looks nothing like the GTO any more. For that reason, I keep it to it's true heritage - Monaro CV8. Here are some close up pics.

Thanks! 13.4 for a bone stock 99 Jag XJR is peppy! I left the traction control on as it was a cool day and the stock 255 Pirellis were not grabbing the best at the tree.

Aren't the GTO6.0s running ~13.2 in the quarter? Very good run to keep up.

Please read . . . My stock Jag XJR (4000lb sedan) sedan runs 13.4s in the 1/4. My GTO runs 10.8s in the 1/4.

Most stock 6.0 GTOs run anywhere from 12.8 to 13.2 depending on tranny and driver ability.

Doc GTO, you've done a great job of converting it to the original Monaro CV8Z. The only thing that needs changing is the rear lights Though.

Those are the VX SS tail lights. I prefer the look of those. Goes well with the lines of the car with no spoiler. I do have the originals sitting, boxed up in the garage.

I had a 2004 GTO with the LS-1 I managed a 13.4 @ 105. GTO is not a bad car I bought mine for under $27,000 brand new. The car handles like a pig and the brakes are the worst. But i put 45,000 hard miles with over 500 1/4 mile runs and never had a problem...very reliable.

The 335i is in a different league as far as cars go....I owned both at the same time so back to back driving was done often. a piggy back 335i will beat a stock gto 5.7 or 6.0. I've been at the strip with GTO guys from the ls' forums and alot of them have problems breaking into the 13's even with the 6.0 5.7's have heat sensor problems that retard timing and 6.0's have an DBW throttle that gets cranky.

GTO is a great car for the money and used ones (6.0l) with less than 30k miles can be had for under 20k. Drinks alot of gas! avg. 15 to16 mpg.
