Vredstein ultrac sessanta cold weather comments

I switched from General UHP's to Vredesteins about 2 months ago and have been extremely happy with them.

In warm weather they grip great and in rain they are a dream! The car feels planted and secure. Stability around corners is also greatly improved. I also like the rim guard as it is bigger and protects the rim lip better.

Now for my cold weather review. Last year was an awful winter here in NC and we had many cold days (below 32 degrees) and lots of snow. General's are a complete nightmare when the temp drops, traction is gone and if you add any snow, forget it. I spent 3 hours of shear terror driving home from work one December night back in 2009..never again.
Lately the temps have dropped to the teens here in NC and we had just at an inch of snow, so I thought I would see how the new shoes faired. Well I can say that I'm very pleased. Even with the low temps dry traction is great and the same can be said in cold rain. I really didn't notice a difference from how it felt in warm weather grip. Snow of 1 inch was no issue at all. plowed though it and didn't have the" slicks" effect that I have had with previous warm weather performance tires.

All in all I'm very pleased with them and I would buy them again. Don't get me wrong; they are not snow tires nor am I even saying there the best tire, but I would say for my dollar spent they could easily be the best bang for the buck tire out there.
