Hi all,
I finally located a good set of 19" BBS rs-gt wheels, 8.5 36 and 9.5 25.
Now I am looking at what tire sizes will be best. I want Michelin pilot supersports (tired of wearing out extreme perf tires...). I prefer a less staggered arrangement than OEM (18" 225 / 255). Options are 265/30 or 275/30 for rear, 235/30, 235/35, or 245/35 for front. I wish tirerack had 245/30 for Mich SS. I assume 255/30 will rub in front, so that size is out. Will 275/30 rub in rear? Do 10" rims need 275s?

Please advise: front tires for 2007 E90 19": 235/30, 235/35, or 245/35 ? Rear tires 265/30 or 275/30?

235/30R19 = too short
235/35R19 = great size, great match to 265/30R19 rear
245/35R19 = a bit aggressive but many use it and get away with it. Taller than 265/30R19.

265/30R19 rear = great size

If the rear offset is ET20, then I wouldn't go wider than 265/30.

Nope, they fit great on my Morr's which are 19x10 in the rear. I went with PSS, they seem to be a bit beefier, my old Invo's were a little bit stretched.

If rear offset is +38 with a 19x10 rear, would a 275/30/19 be safe to run without rubbing?

I really hate the stretched look from the 265/30/19's that I had before. I am keeping my previous 235/35/19's on 19x9's for the front. (yeah, I realize the overall diameter between front and back will now be slightly different)

A 275/30/19 is going to have almost the same diameter as the front tires. One thing to consider is that different tires have different width/height/sidewall characteristics. Some run wider than others. You may be able to get away with 275s though. People have done it before for sure.

Oh okay, you mean in terms of sidewall right? Are you familiar with the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports? They're similar to the RE-11's if maybe you have experience with those.

I'm kind of curious how the potenza's run (as far as narrow or wide).

To my knowledge, RE760s do not run as wide as the RE-11. The RE-11 is a super fat tire.

Can you post a pic...I am getting MORR rims 19 X 10 with a 295/30/19.....I gave 295's on a 10.5" rim with nitto and there is slightly stretched. Just trying to see how a 265 looks on the MORR rim so I can gauge what it will look like (295's). I am getting VS8.2.

I run a 32 offset (42 with 10MM spacer) with 295's.

I tried 285/35's on Monday and they wouldve cleared with a fendef roll but i havent yet.

I think 35 aspect ratios just arent possible without a roll on the rears (19"+ wheels)

Yup, I got the Michelin SS in 235/35 and 265/30 19". And got RS-GTs in 8.5 36, 9.5 25.

Little surprised that they do rub a bit, the front passenger side catching the oil cooler grate at full turn, and all four wheels doing a slight rub over big bumps and tight turns. Just very mild rubbing of wheel arch liner. Any thoughts on best way to eliminate this?

I have right now 295/25/20....going to 295/30/19 with a 32-34 offset....Will be close since I switched to a PSS instead of Nitto wich have bigger sidewalls. I have shaved/modified fenders.

Easy fix! Also take liner 1/2 way out in back the length of your fender. In front trim oil cooler grate "frame" can dremel well over 1". You are also rubbing where the front fender/front clip meet.

From where should I dremel the oil cooler vent frame? From the edges of the frame and push the vents further in, further away from the tire? If I dremel the frame, how can I get the vents to stay in place?
