Finished my CF interior trim
Hey everyone,
I just finished a black CF 3m wrap on interior trim. Ive had pieces done for awhile now however, never had the finished product. I attached a couple pictures below for you to view. Please let me know what you think? I was hesitant at first with my interior being Saddle Brown. Although I think it turned out well and was a great alternative for the money then buying real CF. Please excuse the poor picture quality. I used my iphone for these because my camera is broken at the moment. I also added a 2 pictures of the car from the outside to show the overall look. |

Looks great. Saddle brown FTW.
edit - just saw the CF weave on the dash and the center console aren't aligned. Did you mean to do it like that? |

nope I didn't disconnect the battery, you just need to take off 3 screw that, are locate on the back off your steering wheel..so after that, just pull up the steering wheel cover on the front and get it wrap

Perfect, Thank you very much
No it was not very hard to do. It is a very tedious project that took a lot of time. The only difficult part is ensuring the corners are wrapped well and without airbubbles. CF Vinyl if pretty forgiving when under heat so that was very helpful. I would recommend putting aside at least a week to do all the trim pieces. As I know, it can be come highly frustrating due to its long duration and will irritate your finger tips from sliding. Otherwise, I highly recommend it. This was my first wrap and I could not be happier with the outcome. And yes to the gearshift comment. That thing is beat to shit. I need to get a new one, it came from my friends 07 328xi. He gave me it once he upgraded to an 09 335i M sport since it already had the M-sport shifter |

Looks good. Have you tried to align the weave direction or ignored it? (im OCD about these things, lol)

The weave as you asked, was in fact a complete mess up on my behalf. It doesn't bother me all that much and It's such a pia to remove and redo so ill wait until I rewrap down the road to a black vinyl or something.
In order to do those idrive holes and whatnot you need to get an exacto knife. Cut out an x in the middle of the hole and slowly fold the slices behind the trim. Don't make too big of an x with the knife or you will be unable to fix it if it tares. |

thanks for the reply, how did you do the corners? that part is what scares me, did you cut a slit and fold it back or heat it up and stretch it around a corner?
