325d Re-Mapping

I am currently looking at purchasing an E90 325d M Sport (07).
A Company called Celtic Tuning have quoted they can increase the performance from to stock - 285bhp & 413 ibs/ft of torque, do think this is realistically achievable.

Here is a link to the site in question:

http://www.celtictuning.co.uk/

Thanks

If the car was a 330D than the figures seem realistic.

Are you sure you've got the right figures for the 325D?

Figures seem way off - 413nM torques?? Think there's an error there.....should be lbs/ft

It's possible to 275 bhp and 525Nm from the 325d. Speed Religion do it. http://shop.speedreligion.net/e90-32...5bhp-242-p.asp

Maybe so but look at the cash you've got to lay out to get it!

That price from SR included a performance exhaust + intake, but unfortunately I don't think it's available anymore.

Indeed - and why is the SR shop still online if they are no longer trading?

Ess tuning do a 2 maps that will take the 325d to 255din and 550Nm or 285din and 600Nm

The latter is only for manual gearboxes

http://www.esstuning.com/default.asp?c=shop&a=kopinfo

Personally I think pushing then engine upto the 270bhp mark might have an affect on the long term longevity.

If 270/280bhp is the sort of power that you are after then why not just get a 330d instead.
The auto box is rated for the higher torque output. Just my 2p.

But can the components of the car cope with this power i.e. Brakes, Tires etc. or would these need to be upgraded

My 325d is remapped to 231bhp and 480Nm of torque and handles that power upgrade no problems.
The suspension and tyres are the same as the 330d.

Brakes may be different though, would have to check the part numbers but the BMW Performance brakes will fit though.

You can achieve that HP with the 325d, it needs more than just a re-map though.

Exhaust, filter, larger 'Cooler and a hybrid turbo.

Hi Guys

As above, 270+hp is possible but not from software alone.

We map this engine to approx 235hp and 480NM of torque. Other stages of tune are available, increasing both hp and torque, however we have developed the software around the stock set up, including the clutch.

The P-Torque remap for this is £345.00 all in, and includes dyno power runs before and after with print out

My 325d made 213-216hp from the factory (2 different RR`s and I also know another guy on here who found the same, he`s running 270ish on his manual car) so not much of a gain taking it to 230ish (funnily enough thats all DMS managed to get out of mine at the time, this was back in 2006 `tho).

Carl, the exhaust, filter, `cooler and turbo are identical to the 330d.

325/330d use the same manual G`box but the 325d has the lower torque rated auto, hence ESS wont map the auto to the higher figure.

Hi Mike

Yes, a few of the later BMW's run slightly higher power than expected. Also the slightly older 204hp 3.0d tend to run approx 10hp more than standard figures suggest
