BimmerTech CIC Retrofit Review 2008 E92
I purchased the CIC/Combox/2012 USA NAV MAPS/VC/6NR from forum member Patrys@BimmerTech which arrived 14 MAY 2012.
My vehicle is a 328xi coupe 2008 that was equipped with a CCC nav system, and bluetooth, which made the installation of the hardware simple since most of the wiring was already there. Total installation time for the hardware was 197 minutes over 4 days. I took my time during the hardware installation to ensure that I had time to consult with Patryk on any installation questions so the items would be installed right the first time. Patryk was always quick to respond to emails. Remote Coding was done with a usb coding cable (supplied with the CIC kit) and a laptop running a 32bit windows OS. This part was a bit tricky since I am a Drill Sergeant at Ft. Jackson, and free time is rare commodity. Patryk and his associate, MEN, was still able to make time to code my vehicle despite the big time difference. Total coding time was <2 hours over two days. They meticulously walked me through system by system to ensure functionality. If one system did not work they would stay on it until the issue was resolved. There is no question as to why BimmerTech (Patryk et. al.) is so highly recommended in the BMW retrofitting community. Their attention to detail, and customer service is second to none. I look forward in posting some pictures of the system running through out the week. |
