Yep. What happens is you can't activate your new iPhone 3G, but you can't use your old iPhone 2G either... Come on Apple, really?

I guess it works now. There was a lot of talk this morning about activation servers being overloaded with requests.

I upgraded my 2G iPhone to the 3G iPhone this morning, and there was indeed a computer meltdown that lasted until about 11:45 Pacific Time Zone. Once the network came back online, it was running fine within just a couple of minutes!!

you notice a difference in speed???? I am on firmware 2.0 on my first gen iPhone....I am wondering if the 3g is worth it for me....almost everywhere i am i have wifi

I bricked, rather APPLE and AT&T bricked my 1st gen iPhone this AM, about 8cst.

Who ever at Apple autorized this rollout should have his....(insert favorite torture here)

It seems to be updating property as I type this though.

Purchased the 16GB White & the 8GB BLK; updated my 4 & 8 to Version 2.0 with no problems; then, updated/sync'ed the new...no issues; all is well and in great working order. Did the same for my iPod Touch...all good to go.

Me.com is working like a champ, too.
