E92 335d steering vibration

Has anyone experienced any issues with front pagid discs/pads?
Had steering vibration when braking hard at 40mph and was told I had warped discs. Had them replaced and cured the vibration....did around 800 miles and brake vibrations has come back?😳

Go for a 5 minute drive and use the brakes as little as possible, get some speed up if you can. Check disc temps after (be careful they could be hot). If your discs are warped it's likely that they are rubbing and will be hot. You can visually inspect too. If the disc has a ring it's probably rubbing.

Where did you get them replaced? I'd go back if you've only done 800 miles and you are sure there is a problem.

the 1st pair I had for a month and soon as I hit the brakes around 80mph the steering wheel vibrated. It was a local Indy that did the job. Mechanic drove the car himself and agreed the steering is definitely vibrating when braking. No pedal vibration at all just steering wheel. He rang ecp and requested new pair of pagid discs. He did check the pads for uneven wear and said the pads look brand new? 😳. So this is my 2nd pair and am getting a slight vibration so give a few weeks and am sure it will get worse? Surely discs can't get warped that quick? I don't even brake harsh? I'll give the above a try? Any particular speed you want me to do so then I'll check temp on discs?

It could be lower ball joint.

Check suspension bushings for sure in the first instance.

I have had this previously on my X5 with Pagid discs/pads though. I honestly don't have much confidence in Pagid anymore as another set I tried squeeled really badly even though all fitted properly.

Hmmm...it can't be ball joint because when I got the 2nd pair of pagid discs the vibration wasn't there and it feels like is gona come back any time soon....few hard stops and I'll be able to tell again. Forgot to mention it passed its mot with no advisories few days after the 2nd set of discs?😳

Then could be a sticky caliper or just the Pagid discs.

Where did you get them as I'd potentially look to swap them for a different brand and see.

Got them from euro car parts. 1st set from them and month later am on the 2nd set.. If it was a sticky caliper would that have been picked up on my mot?

MOT would measure braking not if it stuck after they had completed the brake test surely?

You need to drive the car and then check for excessive heat from the brakes. That will highlight if caliper is sticking and binding the pad on the disc.

The way to check the discs is to measure the radial run out with a dial gauge which most people don't have but to be honest you'll hear a few horror stories about Pagid discs which is probably because they aren't made by Pagid- only the pads are. The pads are great but most of the rest is just a re boxing exercise by ECP..

Thanks for the input guys.....no steering wobble so far. Did a test brake at 80. Checked temperature on hubs and both sides seem to be same. If it is down to the fact of being cheap quality discs I'll have to source better ones

Gona book the car in again because the steering judder has returned again when braking 😡. I've checked the heat on both sides and they seem to have the same amount of heat?

I'd just say it's the discs then or possible wear in a bush from the control arms, but definitely more likely the discs.

if the discs were warped would you not also get pedal vibration?

At lower speeds yes you will feel it pulse as you only lightly press the brake. When applying a lot more force to scrub speed off then you don't tend to feel it pulsating through the pedal as the force is being applied at greater pressure and overcomes the push back on the piston from the disc at the point its warped. Not sure if explained well enough.

Or control arm bush as that causes the same effect on the E53's.
