Another Muffler Delete!!!

Ok So i got my muffler delete done. 07 E90 335i.

Short vid right after.

ive read tons of reviews and threads about it and.... everything is true!

DRONE!!!!! It is very very annoying. Im going to keep it for maybe a week or two see if i can live with it but the drive home had alot of mixed feelings. my friend said he would hate to go on a road trip in it, i would say the same.

The car is much louder even at idle and i would say 1800-2600 rpm=DRONE DEATH. and those are RPM's are used alot. Very light throttle helps but i just wanted to be louder i don't want to drive my car different. Loud music can help but not really. You can also have a conversation but its just annoying.

In terms of loudness....Oh its there. I love the Gargling(makes it 5x louder) of the exhaust when you let off the accelerator. The stock mufflers does it's job well. OH! You also save at least 20-30 pounds just from the muffler its a very heavy piece.

Cliff Notes-
Muffler Deleted
Surprised by Drone.
Loud.
May be annoyed.
Gurgles very loud.

Will post pics and more vids.

Edit.

I imagine removing all cats and leaving the rest stock would sound primo.

I totally agree with the above. The muffler delete was just too loud, in terms of drone, for me. I plan on removing the secondary kitties when I install catless down pipes this spring.

I'm starting to believe the best solution is to go fully catless, but keep the stock mufflers.

Exactly my thoughts when I met up with a member here and took a listen to his muffler delete. Sounds very messy, and I would end my life if I went on a long trip.

I settled down for secondary cat deletes and golf tee mod, sounds perfect to me. Since I changed the tips, a lot of people think its an aftermarket exhaust, and are impressed when I tell them its pretty much stock.

Would you be able to pass smog with out the secondary cats in place ? And also do you know if they throw a code if removed?

Dunno about CA, but here in MD as long as the primaries are in place they can give two shits. And nope, no code thrown.

Dont want to thread jack, but if you are curious, here is my thread

I got a question, is the change easily reversible if I were to do secondary cats delete?

in cali i heard that they check to see how many cats you are supposed to have by using your vin number and if they do a visual inspection and see that you are missing two cats you will be in trouble but there are times that they may not check and you may be able to get by it just all depends

anyone confirm this? what if there are resonators, do you think they'll be fooled? how about emission wise, will it pass with just primary cats?
