Is there some kind of connector where you can push the 2 pins in and it outputs to 1 pin. This way no tapping will be required and just a cleaner way of doing things. Last edited by DESI4life10; 05-30-2012 at 11:03 AM.. |

Yes, you can tap it right near the plug or pretty much anywhere in the housing, just follow the black wires that go to that connector and pick a spot where there is room...an 18-22 gauge wire tap will work fine. You can bore out the one hole in the plastic wire tap that doesn't run all the way through so that you can have both wires run right through it (there is no need to run a wire since the two wires are right next to each other). If it was me doing it I would just take a 22 gauge wire and just solder it between the two pins on the LED blink circuit board but not everyone can solder and/or is good at it.

After seeing this in person, I have to agree. 1 and 7 is a better way. I soldered a mod chip onto an xbox once for my brother. That was the one and only time. I think I will just tap it. I like desi's idea of using some type of pin splitter but I don't know if one exists.

BTW for those who are wondering how hard this conversion is for pre-lci xenon to LCI xenon, its pretty much plug and play. You'd only have to get coded to get rid of the bulb check functions and wire the 3 LED's if you want them to function. Other than that everything works as normal.

Ok, I managed to move pin 5 to position 6, lots of pain....
Now, I see that for ground, I should splice (tap) together brown wire going to the ballast and black wire going to AE socket. What are the other ways beside using tap connector? Did anyone try to solder pin 2 and 4 together on the connector? there is some room where you actually see pins between edge and the bracket.... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. |

So I popped the connector back into the light because I still have to tap ground wires and the 3 leds. What I found was a brown wire that runs to my AE's in #4. Also, there is what looks to be the black led wire in the same slot. Check the pic.
