I think the sound quality of all bluetooth streaming is bad in general...the nature of bluetooth...but I had a Jetta 12' which had bluetooth streaming built into the car and it sounded alot better(had the Fender Sound pkg though) than my current system using the Belkin.

But as I noted above, I have the base stereo and it sounds horrible from the get go.

This is by far the best bluetooth setup for my needs. Only need to pair it one time and it will auto connect to your phone every time you turn the car on, works flawlessly every time. Other cheaper (and more expensive) models may have connectivity issues or may have a manual button to push every time you want to stream via bluetooth. Do your research and carefully read the reviews before you buy.

Early models dont have A2DP integration. Even though I would like a wireless integration for music via BT I dont mind using it the old style way connected via 3.5 I ve been using it for years playing pandora radio.

Don't do it! BT streaming sound quality takes a huge hit (no bass, levels messed up). Do this:

I would normally agree but I have a 2013 5 series as a loaner and the BT audio is killing me, I love it. Sounds crisp and syncs flawlessly. I am not looking forward to dealing with the cable again. I actually proclaimed last night that I would just buy the CIC upgrade as the iDrive is so much nicer.

Thanks!
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner...yes. It's actually a perfect fit AND I can have my USB >Lightning cable for my iPhone 5 plugged in to and it only puts a very slight bend in the cable.

The xtrememac is perfect for our cars.

I don't agree. Maybe on older BT setups but current BT 3 or 4.0 adapters are great. I have no discernible difference between wired and Bluetooth connection in my car.

do you have any issues with pairing your iphone 5 to the BMW BT hands-free for calls, and pairing to the xtrememac adapter for music? i saw you mentioned earlier this is how you have it setup.

I saw earlier that galaxy phones dont have an issue, but the iphone 5 seems to have issues knowing which device to push the calls through?

I do not believe so. Just get the dongles i talked about. They all work great and are cheaper than doing something like that anyhow.

I would still prefer a seamless integration :/
how is the sound quality? Can I expect CD quality from this type of device?

If you have an iPhone, but your car’s audio system doesn’t have Bluetooth support. But after pairing your iPhone with your car, you have the absolute best, most convenient way for hands-free talking on a phone while driving.

I bought this the other day and it seems to work well. The volume is lower than normal compared to Tuner volume so I have to turn it up a bit. All media sounds go though the BT device while my phone calls still go through the car's BT.

I thought it was pretty good. No noticeable difference and I didn't hear any static. I think the volume level might be my phone's output rather than the receiver itself. I'll have to test it with another device. Also, you can use this coupon code 'CONVERG' to get it for $18 (I think it's still alive).

Quality is great IMO. My advice, is to go to Radio Shack and get one... try it out... then, if not satisfied, return it. "Quality" is a relative concept
